David Strauss shares lessons from his second chance at life A falling rock could have ended author, speaker and coach David Strauss’ life, but instead it changed it by giving him a second chance and a new way of looking at the world, which he shares in his new book, “Dancing with Vampires.” In 2008 Strauss was exploring ancient Anasazi ruins in New Mexico when a rock fell on his head. His solo walk to safety with an open head wound and concussion led him to face the possibility of his own death. His harrowing experience in the desert gave him an insight that has led to his new book, which is meant to inspire people to take responsibility for their own happiness, health, and well-being. A photography exhibition is to take place on Saturday November 7th at Art Share L.A. 801 East 4th Place, Los Angeles, CA 90013 Justice Rising announced that it will be hosting a photography exhibition, “A Night of Courage” from war torn Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo featuring photos taken by rehabilitated child soldiers and photo essays of survivors of rebel attacks. The photographs will focus on finding joy and hope in the midst of war.
The show will be held at Art Share LA on November 7th from 8pm to 11pm. All pieces will be available for purchase. Pre-sale tickets are $40, $50 at the door and will include free parking. VIP tickets are available on a limited basis. There will be a complimentary cocktail reception followed by a silent auction where you can bid on many great items. All profits from the evening will benefit Justice Rising programs in the DRCongo. 2013 WCFEST festival was rated #1 thing to do by CBC. 2014 WCFEST broke attendance records. This years festival is set to be the best with more top line acts. The third annual Windsor Comedy Festival will take place from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Chrysler Theatre in Windsor on Dec. 27, and feature some of the very best up and coming comics from Canada and the United States. Hosted by Arms Bumanlag of AM800 and CTV, the festival will feature the comedy stylings of headliner Ron Josol, along with Rebecca Kohler, Maija Digiogio and Troy Walker. As the only festival of its kind in the region, the show offers a chance to relax and enjoy the break before the start of the New Year.
