Announcing the Giving Hope to Madel Campaign

October 13, 2015 – Deerfield Beach, FL – Madel is an optimistic, bright young girl who lives in the Philippines and comes from a poor, but loving family. In August this year, Madel was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, or AML, an aggressive and deadly cancer that requires immediate treatment in the form of a life-saving bone marrow transplant. But this is an extremely expensive procedure and is financially out of her reach as she doesn’t have anywhere near the funds needed. Currently Madel is being kept alive by chemotherapy and blood transfusions but this a very temporary measure that does nothing to stem the disease and can only be administered for a short period of time before it will no longer be effective. As bone marrow transplants are not offered in the Philippines, Madel is forced to have this procedure done abroad by the end of this month, October 2015, to give her a fighting chance against this terrible disease. The cost of the bone marrow transplant is US$70,000. This may sound like an insurmountable amount, but please know that every single penny will help. Any financial gift, no matter how small, will help bring Madel closer to the life-saving[…]
