The new song “Follow The Sunshine” (I Don’t Have A Life) available on December 15th, is an acoustic ballad about moving on from personal struggles and trusting life again. Amy Loftus is a Chicago-born multi-talented and prolific singer songwriter who has 5 albums to date, multiple singles and EPs to her credit.
Singer-songwriter Amy Loftus is pleased to announce her latest single ‘Follow The Sunshine’ available on iTunes December 15th.
The Chicago-born songwriter, who now lives in Los Angeles, produced the track and co-wrote it with Bob Thiele and Bob Neuwirth. The song was recorded in Nashville, TN.
#FollowTheSunshine , sings about finding ‘salvation in the sunrise,’ about hope and trusting that if you just stay in the day you’re in, put one foot in front of the other and do the next right thing, one sunrise at a time- you’ll be alright.
Her latest offering follows on from a successful recording career, which includes her second LP, ” Better ,” produced by Will Kimbrough and her new album ” That Whole Entire Time ,” available by visiting http://www.amyloftus.com/merch/that-whole-entire-time-cd
When asked how Amy got to work with Bob Neuwirth she said: “I met Bob through a mutual friend at somebody’s gathering. Bob was asking all about Nashville but totally not letting on to being a writer and musician himself. I told him about touring etc., and he’s listening like he doesn’t know about it, like it’s the first time he ever heard about a musician touring. Very humble individual. I told him how hard I worked and stuff, and I quipped, “So, you know, I don’t have a life.” It was just a really low time for me personally. To which, Bob declares: “That’s a song!”
Amy had no idea who she was speaking to until her friend Bob Thiele called her and explained she was talking to Bob Neuwirth. Shortly after that, Bob Thiele called again to convey “Neuwirth wants to write that idea with you. Come over. “
“Bob Neuwirth is a bit of a living legend and has inspired great songwriters like Bob Dylan. He wrote “Mercedes Benz” for Janis Joplin. He is the wisest, most spiritual person I know. Like a living Yoda,” says Loftus about her co-writer.
“Follow The Sunshine” is no stranger to her fans; it was featured in the American television series Sons of Anarchy in 2013. Countless requests for a studio recording version prompted the song’s official release. Now it will be available to a wider audience on December 15th.
Amy Loftus was named “Best New Singer/Songwriter” one year by The Nashville Scene who wrote, “She is that rare find that sounds fully developed on first blush.”
There’s nothing quite like watching a live performance from Amy whose poignant lyrics, angelic and soulful voice can easily captivate an audience. If you are in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, January 30th, 2016, catch Amy at Molly Malones for a fantastic show.
