Adam Logan Appointed Head Coach of Voyageur Academy Football Team


      With former coach John Pittman stepping down as coach after 7 very successful years, Adam Logan was handed the reins of the football team in December 2017.

         John Pittman stepped down from the Voyageur Academy Football Team Head Coach post to become the Head Coach at Detroit Public Safety Academy. He gave his all for the football team for seven years, and helped the team move forward and progress with his experience and amazing coaching skills. As a player, John Pittman won two state championships in high school football playing for Coach Carter at Detroit St. Martin de Porres High School in 1996 and 1997.

      New coach Adam Logan has coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels having coached at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in 2007, Ypsilanti High School for three seasons from 2009 – 2011, Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI, and Valparaiso University in Indiana. He began his coaching career as a wide receivers coach at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School and has coached the Defensive Backs at Ypsilanti High School and Concordia University.

        In 2013, he earned his first opportunity to lead a unit as the Defensive Coordinator at Southeastern High School in Detroit and the success he had led him to return to the collegiate ranks to coach the secondary at Valparaiso University, Indiana in a division 1-AA (FCS) program. At Valpo, he was also responsible for recruiting athletes in 12 states across the East Coast and Southern border. The Crusaders defensive backs yielded 23 PBUs prior to his arrival, and had 38 PBUs and eight interceptions under his leadership.

        Athletic Director of the school, Terrance Wilson in an interview, said “We had an awesome seven years with John and he is a close friend of mine but, we have now turned the page and brought aboard Adam Logan who has college coaching experience along with high school coaching experience in different parts of the state. We are excited about where he will take our program and what the future has in store for the Voyageur College Prep Football Program”.
