Led by experienced player and manager Bruno Pisano, the Bullies, a Los Angeles semi-pro soccer team has run all over its opposition in almost every game since January 2021. In the Winter tournament that just ended, the Bullies produced an incredible 16-1-1 record, with 137 goals in favor and only 40 against.
“That kind of scoring is simply impossible, even at the full professional level,” Pisano said. “To achieve that kind of offense and defense at the same time is just amazing.”
Although the team is comprised of exceptional players, Erick Alamo is a standout on the team. If the team had an MVP for the season, Alamo would certainly earn that, Pisano said. Alamo plays midfield and scored 26 goals for the Bullies.
Pisano said the team has a wealth of talent. Other stellar players are veteran former pro Federico Browne, and young talents Javier Mendoza, Saadiq Garba, Edgar Alamo, Cody Reynolds, Kyle Littman, Kea Braekman, Elvis Santiago, Cesar Gomez, Rafael Hernandez, Chris Lopez, Jordan Keny Guyer, Kenny Lee and Trevor Houghton.
“When we get on the field, there is a vibe, an energy that you can feel down in your bones. You just know these guys are going to go out and hammer the other team,” Pisano said. “We have a rapport on the field; it is like we are telepathic and know what each member is going to do before he starts moving.”
The Premier League in Los Angeles, is a superstar-studded competition, that even though is pretty even in playing level, has had a highly impressive domination by the Bullies. Bruno Pisano has very high ambitions for the team, due to the potential and quality of the players, but also because the fans enjoy watching fantastic games with exceptional performances week after week from the Bullies.
