The Heart Cells Foundation which is a charity that funds further research and the creation of a special unit at the Barts and The London NHS Trust is pleased to announce they will be launching a new website.
The new website will make it easier for people to navigate and find the information they need quickly. The charity also hopes the new Heart Cells Foundation website will encourage more people to donate to allow them to carry on with their important work.
There are around 7.4 million people living with heart and circulatory disease in the UK: 3.9 million men and 3.5 million women (BHF). According to official figures around 1.4 million people alive in the UK, today have survived a heart attack. Sadly, nearly 170,000 deaths each year are caused by heart and circulatory diseases, showing how important The Heart Cells Foundation is.
The Heart Cells Foundation was set up to save lives, and to reduce the number of deaths that occur each year. The charity is funding the treatment of revolutionary medicine that will see people use their own Stem Cells to repair their hearts. This modern technique will provide a much higher survival rate for the 100,000 people who are admitted to hospital each year.
The funds donated by the public will go towards the important treatment programme headed by Professor Anthony Mathur who is based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The UK and the Heart Cells Foundation are leading the way in this modern treatment and the Unit at St Bartholomew’s Hospital is the first of its kind in Europe.
It is so important that people donate to charity to combat the growing trend of heart diseases. According to a new report, heart disease is on the rise and if successful treatment is not found then more people could die each year.
