“Justice Makes a Difference” Children’s Book is an International Best Seller

St. Paul, MN – Jan. 7, 2018 – “Justice Makes a Difference: The Story of Miss Freedom Fighter, Esquire,” has achieved the International Best Seller List. Written by Dr. Artika Tyner in association with Jacklyn Milton and illustrated by Jeremy Norton, the children’s book has reached audiences ranging from Cuba and Australia to India and Ghana.

“Our team made a commitment to hand-deliver 1,000 books to schools across the globe,” said Tyner. “We will start in my hometown of St. Paul, MN, and end the tour with a special visit to schools in Ghana. With each visit, we will inspire young people to discover the leader within through the pursuit of academic excellence and the unveiling of each student’s limitless potential.”

The official book launch party was held at Daybreak Bookstore in Minneapolis, MN on Dec. 9, 2017, with superheroes of all ages on hand to learn more about how they can make a difference in the world. The author also made visits to Dayton’s Bluff Achievement Plus School and Inver Hills Community College.

Available in a paperback edition, the book is also available on Amazon in a Kindle edition. All proceeds from book sales will go toward furthering the work of the Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute, a nonprofit group founded by Tyner.

“Justice Makes a Difference” is based on the experiences of Tyner, a.k.a. Miss Freedom Fighter, and built upon the wisdom of her grandmother who impressed upon Tyner the importance of words and the power they hold. Tyner learned from her grandmother about people throughout history that fought for social justice, worked to make the world a better place, and passes on that message in the book.

Children are often motivated to create change, but feel they’re too young or have no power. Tyner’s book is designed to show young readers that they can make a difference no matter what their path in life may be and the importance of believing in themselves. The book amply demonstrates the value of literacy, education and cultural awareness, while promoting leadership development, diversity and inclusion.

“Justice dreams of becoming a change maker too – “Miss Freedom Fighter, Esquire,” a superhero with a law degree and an afro!” said Tyner.

Attaining the International Best Seller List is a testament to Tyner’s ability as a storyteller in “Justice Makes a Difference: The Story of Miss Freedom Fighter, Esquire.” Young people can make a difference and be leaders for justice and Tyner is leading the way for them with her powerful message.
