Gili Islands, Indonesia – Amongst all of the restrictions and upheaval of the 2020 global pandemic PADI Course Director Holly Macleod was still able to issue an astonishing 253+ Instructor level certifications.
Throughout the year many certified Divemaster still managed to travel to the Island of Gili Trawangan to take part in the PADI Scuba Diving Instructor Development Course (IDC) with Holly. In fact candidates came from a range of different global locations including Indonesia (both Jakarta and Flores), India, Hong Kong, China, Poland, USA, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Holland, Italy, Sweden, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, Australia, Korea, Portugal, Singapore, Canada and Greece.
With limited travel and worldwide lockdowns in place many dive operators chose to temporarily close and amongst those still open recreational dive courses were very few. Operating within one of the largest dive centres and being the only 5 Star IDC Career development Centre (CDC) in Gili Trawangan provided the space for Holly to easily implement any health regulations and protocols necessary without in any way interrupting the flow of the program and the overall quality of training provided.
Receiving the Platinum PADI Status Award and the PADI Elite-300 Award for 2021 is an amazing achievement. Holly has received these distinguished Industry Awards for the past eight years running which provides a great indicator to potential Instructor candidates that the quality of training is universally considered to be of the highest possible standard available within the entire recreational diving industry. With over 18 years Industry experience working in a variety of global destinations including Honduras, Thailand, Australia, UK, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia & Singapore; Instructor candidates can be certain that training is going to be based on actual real life scenarios commonly found within the industry. Techniques taught during the IDC are derived from an entirely experience based perspective paving a safe, knowledgeable and skilful path into a career teaching others to dive. The fact that Holly has issued well over 3000 Instructor level certifications in the Gili Islands alone can provide new instructors with the confidence that Holly Macleod is the perfect person to consult when making the transition into a new career; knowing exactly what is expected from new instructors and of course conversely, what new scuba diving instructors should expect from the diving industry within particular geographical locations.
