25 March, 2020 – Amman – Al Qalam Investment Group’s Istiqlal Mall, the national company for carbon industries, Petra Express, Arab lights and Arab views, in conjunction with the critical circumstances the whole world is in the centre of due to the spread of the Corona virus or COVID-19, has decided to take precautions favourable to investors and tenants at Istiqlal Mall. This included a reduction of rent to affected investors during the crisis period, providing them with a discount at the beginning of the new year and holding comprehensive meetings to discuss the general situation along with the extent of the damage caused that has affected the world recently. Amid this crisis, it is necessary to stand in solidarity with the country and its people. The idea of scheduling their tasks at hand to secure their obligations. It includes the scheduling of cheques returned within their abilities and periods agreed upon without compromising. In a way, this ensures the continuity and the fluidity of their process.
On the other hand, the group announced through its chairman Mohamed Anis Al-Qalam, its intention to pledge support to the country and the government during these trying times the whole world is currently situated in. The group decided to equip an 11-storey building in Mount of Amman to receive quarantine cases that houses a capacity of 40,000 square meters including two buildings in Jordan Street consisting of twenty apartments with a considerable number of vehicles with drivers to deliver services to citizens and distribute five hundred ties of bread “Reef” in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Center for Crisis Management. In the middle of all of these, the group has put their trust in the hands of the Jordanian state to work hand in hand in serving and preserving our country and its welfare from this fatal virus. Thus, uttered commitment in coordinating with the concerned authorities for immediate implementation. Initiatives such as this has drawn notable compliments from companies in Jordan along with overseas investments.
He stressed that the country is built through the hands of its sons following his Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein whom God has prolonged his life. The country prides with great concern and loyalty and has initiated collaboration between public and private sectors with a calling to foster the nation’s stand.
