Mining opportunities in Latin America have never been more positive with the region home to the largest reserves of copper, lithium and silver accounting for 30% of the global exploration budget in 2017.
With Ecuador emerging as the latest investment hotspot and opportunities arising in Colombia, in addition to the existing reserves of precious metals throughout Chile, Peru and Mexico the region is once again under sharp focus from mining companies. Similarly, Brazil is set to offer up in the region of 1000 mining areas for gold, copper and iron for auction where previous exploration rights have expired or leases expired.
Chile heads the global exploration investment, with Argentina attracting strong foreign investment, while Peru has strength in gold. It is the current demand for copper and lithium that is driving investment in exploration throughout the region. The prospects of which will be examined at the forthcoming 4-day International Mining & Resources Conference (IMARC).
IMARC, now in its 6th year, is Australia’s largest mining event attracting over 7000 stakeholders from 100 countries.
