Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Paul Wilcock, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Angry Apple Media, one of the leading Digital Marketing Agencies in the West Midlands.
Please tell us something about yourself.
After spending years touring in a band alongside Paul Weller, The Arctic Monkeys, and members of Oasis, I didn’t really know what to do with myself once the band fizzled out. I was given an opportunity to work for a growing SEO agency and have worked in the industry for over 15 years. I absolutely love it. It’s constantly changing with new exciting technology and systems. The feeling you get when you see your clients growing because of the work you’re doing is amazing!
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.
I wanted to create an agency that thinks differently, creates an opportunity for both young and more experienced marketing professionals to share ideas, and grow our business whilst staying ahead of the curve.
Who are your role models?
I think anyone whos successfully built a company can be considered a role model. Still, closer to us, Taylex Displays, one of our major clients, is a great example.
Karl Cark (the owner) has taken something from the very beginning to a large successful organization, his drive and determination was a factor In the start of Angry Apple Media…. anything is possible with hard work.
What inspires you?
Seeing other people’s success in business drives me to want to succeed. Some of the directors and business owners we work with have such a great attitude… I’m spurred on by that success.

Linkedin tends to create interest for us, Marketing Managers and Business Owners often look for professionals in our sector on there.
What’s your greatest fear?
Our logo, it’s pretty angry looking :o)
Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
That’s a tough one, I guess we’re always learning and evolving as we move forward, but I do wish I had taken the plunge earlier in my career and set up a company, who knows where we would be now.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Sales strategy and customer relations, without a doubt! We have the systems and strategies in place to make ourselves and our successful, but without sales strategy and customer retention you cant grow.,
What keeps you going when things get tough?
My Family, I want to succeed for them.
