Upcoming boy group Omega X is the new honorary ambassador of Jeju Island. Jeju Tourism Association have appointed the 11 members of Omega X (Jaehan, Hwichan, Sebin, Hangyeom, Taedong, Xen, Jehyun, Kevin, Junghoon, Hyuk, and Yechan) as the new ambassadors, according to the band’s agency Spire Entertainment on May 10.
According to the Jeju Tourism Association, Omega X received a letter of appointment as an honorary public relations ambassador of the Jeju Tourism Association this morning. Bu Dong Suk, the president of Jeju Tourism Association, congratulated the Omega X members and asked to “promote Jeju Island’s brand values.”
Over the next two years, Omega X will engage in promotional activities to raise awareness of Jeju Island and its natural attractions. “Jeju Island houses 3 UNESCO natural heritage sites. We will do our best to promote Jeju Island and all its beauty to the world with our music and performances,” Omega X said in their ambassadorship acceptance speech.
Omega X is an 11-membered upcoming boy group set to debut next month. Omega (Ω), the last letter of the Greek alphabet, means a new beginning and dreams, while the alphabet ‘X’ denotes infinite love and hope, symbolizing the members’ wish to stay with the fans from the beginning to the end. Fans can learn more about Omega X pre-debut on their reality show “Loading – One More ChanX,” which airs every Wednesday and Saturday at 9pm KST on the official YouTube channel and VLive.
