Princeton Graduate and Attorney Smith Advocates for Justice for Individuals Incarcerated for Nonviolent Cannabis Crimes
SAN DIEGO, CA, October 8, 2019 – BudTrader.com, the largest cannabis social media platform and online marketplace, announced that actor and host of Black Hollywood Live’s Fit Club, Shaka Smith, has joined their advisory board. In addition to Smith, notable members of BudTrader’s board already include NBA and NFL champions John Salley and Marvin Washington and former Congressman Dana Rohrabacher.
“I am extremely passionate about cannabis legalization, and I am proud to join BudTrader’s advisory board,” says Smith. “I’ve gotten to know Brad McLaughlin [BudTrader CEO], and watched BudTrader grow. I look forward to its continued growth as the legal cannabis space grows into a true industry.”
After graduating from Princeton, Shaka Smith relocated to Los Angeles, where he became a leading fitness model in the industry, as well as a prominent vegan voice in the fitness sphere. Smith is also an actor, appearing on Disney’s Pair of Kings, as well as many commercials and independent films.
Smith, who is also an attorney, began hosting a legal news show, Justice Is Served on the Black Hollywood Live Channel on the AfterbuzzTV Network. He continued to pursue his love for fitness by also hosting Fit Club, a weekly show aimed at full inclusion on health & fitness topics.
BudTrader’s CEO Brad McLaughlin has been a frequent guest on Fit Club, most recently appearing as a guest with NBA champion and BudTrader advisory board member John Salley.
Smith has used his fame and the reach of his programming to advocate for the release of individuals who have been incarcerated for nonviolent cannabis offenses.
“Rules are rules, but rules have changed,” says BudTrader CEO Brad McLaughlin, commenting on Shaka Smith’s fight for justice. “If they [people incarcerated for cannabis use or possession] haven’t hurt anyone, now that the laws have changed, they need to be released.”
