An important crowdfunding campaign has been launched for a community that tens of millions of people around the world thought had everything. Sedona and the Verde Valley, which has more than 80,000 residents and is visited by more than three million people each year has only one movie theatre, and now that is about to change.
Even though the picturesque landscape which is famous for its wineries and tasting rooms nestled in the red rock countryside may seem to have everything, what the locals want, and which could help to boost tourism is a drive-in cinema. The only movie theatre within the Verde Valley is an average of 20 miles from its’ 80,000 residents, causing many residents to drive an hour to movie theatres outside of the Verde Valley.
Dave Meyers has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise $62,000 to give the people of Verde Valley a classic drive-in theatre experience. He aims to build a pop-up and mobile theatre where families can come together and enjoy a great film. To make those dreams come true and give the community what other communities take for granted he needs community support.
Realizing that many drive-in theatres have closed due to lack of community support, Mr. Meyers is seeking community support to start the Verde Drive In and support his campaign and give tourists and locals alike in Verde Valley the chance to see great films on the widescreen. Many of those have never been to a drive-in movie theatre,
The campaign is not just to build a pop-up cinema to give people the chance of seeing great films without traveling over twenty miles, it’s more than that. The crowdfunding campaign is about bringing people together and providing them with real family-friendly experience. There will be theme nights, photo booths, food trucks, and additional entertainment to provide a great experience.
As well as providing financial assistance, Verde Drive-In asks people to share the campaign on social media platforms to make as many people as possible aware of the campaign.
