Dr. Gainson Fan: Servant of God, Family Man and Author Although this novel is not autobiographical, Dr. Fan draws upon his rich and varied life experiences to weave authenticity into his characters. An epidemiologist by training, Dr. Fan has worked in many occupations along the way, including service in the United States Army. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Fan’s greatest joy is spending time with his wife and two sons at their home in Central Florida, where he also does his best writing. Through his vocation, his creative outlets, and most of all his devotion to his family, Dr. Fan seeks to live out his faith and to be an encouragement to those around him.
