Engalla Hope Foundation Steps In As Mental Health Care Facility Shuts Down During Covid-19 Pandemic

Houston, TX – As one mental health facility chooses to close its doors during the stress of Covid-19 and its financial decline, the Engalla Hope Foundation steps in to provide housing, food, and assistance for residents being displaced.

Despite agreements on price and a continuance plan between the Engalla Hope Foundation and the current ownership, the facility has announced its plan to continue the displacement of residents on April 24th, 2020. Under the weight of COVID – 19 and its financial burdens, relocation options are limited.

Engalla Hope is now taking action and has converted their own family home into temporary housing in order to provide the proper care for those who have been displaced.

Mom of a displaced resident exclaims, “Without Engalla Hope stepping in, our son, a diagnosed schizophrenic, would have absolutely nowhere to go.”

The foundation is concurrently working to secure a more permanent solution to the mental healthcare facility shortage. To help Engalla Hope in their efforts to treat and house displaced patients, a GoFundMe at has been established to support this cause and the link is listed below. The Engalla Hope Foundation will continue to work and provide support for temporarily displaced residents throughout the pandemic.
