Not forgetting where he comes from & also showing that there are those in the finance industry with a strong sense of community, Financial Advisor Teddy Bacote recently founded the non-profit The 1067 Foundation, whose goal is to help Hampton Roads, VA-area youth become financially literate.
There’s little doubt that Tedd Bacote has been a source of pride for Hampton Roads, Virginia, where he has gone from being a remarkable student and then collegiate athlete all the way to holding a successful position as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch where he is responsible for helping high-net-worth businesses, individuals, and families find the right financial solutions to meet their goals. In exciting news, Bacote recently announced he will be helping to give back to the community, with the recent launch of the non-profit The 1067 Foundation, an organization aimed at improving the lives of Hampton Roads-area youth, through free courses, events, and mentoring in financial literacy. The enthusiasm surrounding the new project is high.
“The industry I’m in sometimes has a reputation for being greedy or not caring about people,” commented the always-passionate Bacote. “With The 1067 Foundation, we are working hard to show that isn’t true in my case and that of the rest of our alumni who came together to make this possible. We are providing unique courses and events to help our community youth become more financially literate, helping set the stage for their being more successful later in life. Being financially illiterate in today’s environment is a huge disadvantage and there’s not been much done in our community to help solve this problem until now.”
Some of The 1067 Foundation’s programs currently include the Business & Education Succeeding Together (B.E.S.T.) series; the B.A.B. Entrepreneurial Scholarship Program; the College Tour Program; the Adopt-a-Mentee Networking Program; and, something the former star-athlete Bacote knows first-hand can deliver real value to many Hampton Roads youth, the Year Round Athletic Shoe Program.
The rest of The 1067 Foundation Team are all alumni from Hampton high schools who have made a name for themselves as athletes, in the financial world like Bacote, in Tech, marketing, and other major fields.
Finishing up 2018 with a great deal of positive public recognition, both Bacote and The 1067 Foundation plan on 2019 being their best and most productive year yet.
