Life coaches over the years have become more popular with men and women. Some of the most successful people in the world turn to life coaches to help them succeed.

One of the most successful and famous women in the world has attributed some of their success to the services of a life coach. Oprah Winfrey has used life coaching services for more than 25 years, and she tells her fans constantly if they want to succeed, they need a life coach.

With more than 20 years of experience as a coach, mentor, and leader, we decided to sit down with Abbey Dyer-Amonette and find out more about her mission to help others.

First of all, please introduce yourself.

My name is Abbey Dyer-Amonette, I am a Female Entrepreneur Coach and Success Strategist.

You have been a life coach for many years, why did you choose that career path?

I am a multi-passionate person. I have been a leader with a Fortune 100 company, coaching and mentoring leaders for 20+ years. I started my first business 10 years ago which is a handmade product business. We make leather bags, wallets, and jewelry. But last year with all the chaos in the world, I realized there was more that I could give to help others. I got my life coaching certification and was driven to start my coaching business to help Female Entrepreneurs like me.

Coaching has become more popular in recent years, why is that?

Our fundamental understanding of things like limiting beliefs has grown. Limiting beliefs are things like I am not smart enough or I am not thin enough or I am not rich enough. People are much more willing to accept that early childhood trauma or events could be driving that today. And people are looking for solutions. Ways to feel better, to be healthier, happier, to find more joy in their lives.

Some people excel in life while others don’t, is there a reason for that?

I remember early in my leadership career, learning about coaching, to help people grow through a problem versus just giving them the answer. But those people must be willing to be coached. Individuals must be open. They must be “coachable”.

Talking about some people doing better than others, is there a reason why some people within a workplace who are very experienced always get passed over for promotion, and someone with less experience gets promoted?

I have seen attitude be the differentiating factor in many of those situations. This is where the difference between a Fixed and Growth Mindset comes into play. You must be open to change, willing to learn new things, and have a positive attitude. Those are some of the things that help you grow and promote.

You recently announced that you are on a mission to create more female CEOs, why is that important to you?

We need to fix gender inequality. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are incredibly important. It’s truly a foundational requirement. Why? It’s the right thing to do first and foremost. But then there is also the research that proves those diverse opinions get the very best business results.

Only 8% of America’s 500 highest-grossing companies have female CEO’s why is that?

There has been a long-standing challenge with gender inequality. Decades of women not pursuing college degrees or even considering leadership positions because of the societal expectations of staying home to raise children. The misconception was that women could not raise families and be company leaders. I mean seriously, women in the US couldn’t vote until 1920 and it was 1965 before this included all women of color.

What plan do you have to help create more female CEOs?

I started my coaching business specifically to help Female Entrepreneurs. I want to help them organize their business so they can get more clients and build businesses that they love. I want to help them build businesses that serve others.

You have had a lot of success stories in helping people succeed, what would you say is your biggest success?

I have coached and mentored hundreds of individuals over the last 20+ years. When I hear a from those folks, 1 yr., 5 yrs., maybe even 10 years later, it makes me happy. They reach out to thank me and tell me about their wins, it is priceless. I had someone reach out last week to tell me about publishing their first children’s book based on my encouragement and coaching. That is a success.
