Lily Baker to join Bericon Forensics in September as company aims to expand further

Company has been an industry leader for 40 years and will provide a fresh approach with the new appointment

Stoke-on-Trent, UK – Bericon Forensics has officially announced that Lily Baker will join the company in September as the industry leader aims to expand its services further. Lily’s appointment will keep Bericon’s scientific tradition going as the company is one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and most well-respected forensic science consultancies.

Lily is the daughter of Bericon managing director Alan Baker. Her appointment means that Bericon Forensics will have a fresh and invigorated approach as it celebrates 40 years of providing expert witness services to the legal profession in the UK.

Alan purchased Bericon Forensics in 2004 and since taking over the company has led it to new heights. Bericon’s annual caseload was more than quadrupled under Alan’s leadership. Now with daughter Lily onboard, Bericon’s future is bright. Expansion and growth are on the agenda for the long-running forensics company. Lily will join up with the company following university graduation.

“I have been surrounded by science all of my life and have grown-up with dad talking to police officers, scientist and solicitors about everything from cannabis to bloodstained clothing,” Lily said. “It was always part of the company’s plan for me to join the business and I plan to bring new ideas and energy with a specific aim to expand our already extensive range of forensic services.”

Although Alan will welcome his daughter to the company, he doesn’t have plans of stepping aside. Alan is a well-known member of the forensic science field and has worked on a variety of high-profile cases during a long, prestigious career.

He has been an expert guest on Sky News, CNN, ITN, BBC Radio, Talk Radio, and Legal TV to speak about high-profile cases that have hinged on forensic examination, DNA testing, handwriting comparison, and other such areas of scientific investigation. Over the last 25 years, Alan and Bericon Forensics have become authorities on those topics, helping police and law enforcement.

In addition to his work with Bericon Forensics, Alan has appeared as the resident forensic expert in a series for Sky TV’s The Crime Channel. The experienced forensic scientist will now help Lily start her professional career and to continue providing clients the same industry-leading services Bericon is known for.
