YOUTH BOXER WINS NATIONAL TITLE – DEDICATES VICTORY TO HIS LATE GRANDFATHER

0

Independence, MO, February 5, 2018- Joseph Awinongya was on a mission.

He lost his grandfather last year, and dedicated his National Silver Gloves Boxing Tournament final performance to his grandfather’s memory. “This fight is for my grandfather, it’s been a year since he died,” said Awinongya.

On February 4th, Joseph Awinongya, competed against Famous Johnson out of Mayweather’s Gym in Independence, MO for the Silver Gloves National Championship in the 90 pound weight class (9-10-year-old division). He defeated Famous J with polished boxing and movement.

Joseph’s renowned boxing coach and father, Joseph Awinongya, was impressed with his son’s performance. Awinongya Sr. is a former professional boxer who was promoted by the legendary Don King. He competed as a Cruiserweight in 26 professional bouts from 1994-2005 in the United States as well as Italy, The Netherlands and Germany.

Joseph “Jojo” Awinongya Jr. hopes to be one of future faces of boxing. He is now a 4 x National champion at age 10 (2x Silver Gloves National Champion, Junior Olympics Champion, and USA Boxing National Champion). He is trained by his father at the Chicago Sports & Fitness Center in Joliet.

He works hard and intends on showing off more of his impressive skills in the ring. Joseph is not an easy opponent, so the young fighters have a lot to prepare for if they face “Jojo”. For his future opponents his message, “I must be the best I can be, I am gunning to stay up there and keep winning” said Joseph.

Young Joseph also has his priorities straight as he takes academics seriously and excels in the classroom at Eisenhower Academy in Joliet, IL. Awinongya’s favorite subject is math, and his parents make sure that school comes before boxing.

Outside of boxing, JoJo has performed at the Rialto Square Theater with the Generation Dance Company and has a speaking part in the feature-length film “I Am Your Keeper”. He also enjoys swimming and playing basketball.

Hurricane Dangers Beyond Structural Damage by sanjeev hansraj Seenath ll

0

Naples, FL – Category 4 Hurricane Irma ripped across the Florida peninsula causing widespread damage and power outages. The Department of Homeland Security estimated that immediately after the storm over 15 million Floridian were without electricity. That is 3 out of 4 state residents were dark! Businesses, hospitals and schools have been closed due to a lack of power. In fact, over 35 hospitals across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina were either forced evacuate or shut down. But the final statistics are far from tallied as it could be weeks until electricity is restored and the areas affected are properly assessed for post hurricane dangers.

One thing is certain, post hurricane dangers from building damage with water intrusion, flooding, and lack of operational HVAC, including temperature/humidity control poses health risks to building occupants when they return.

As interior dampness and humidity rise there are several environmental factors that can affect building heath. Even after a building structure has been physically recovered from water damage, occupant health issues can still linger. Though everything may appear visually restored, the interstitial side of a building’s structure might yet be teeming with chemical residue and/or microbial growth. Musty odors or discoloration of interior walls and other places are a primary indicator that microbial remediation is needed. If the discoloration is in multiple places, it is of even more concern as the interstitial sides could be 100 times greater than what is visibly seen.

Even if the building sustained no damage but was without power for an extended period, post hurricane dangers can still be ongoing. If the building’s HVAC system is down for time then temperature and humidity levels sharply rise creating an ideal ecosystem for mold growth. Once electricity is restored and the HVAC system is brought back online that mold, other hazardous microbes, and volatile organic compounds, as well as degraded fiberglass insulation can be distributed throughout the ductwork to the entire building. There is medical and scientific consensus that this situation poses a health risk to occupants.

Post hurricane dangers hidden from visual detection can include:

• Fungal/Mold Growth

• Bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Legionella, etc.

• Volatile Organic Compounds

Professional evaluation, testing, and laboratory analysis is often needed to better identify the extent of water related damage, ongoing environmental conditions, HVAC cleanliness and other post hurricane dangers that might be hiding in an affected building. Environmental air, bulk, liquid, and surface samples should be collected from the affected areas for bacterial, chemical, and mold laboratory analysis. The environmental test results are critical to determine the microbial/chemical propagation, as well as to facilitate remedial action or justify decision making for any remedial measures.

Hiring an   indoor environmental test company to evaluate the ambient conditions of the structure, the HVAC system, interstitial wall cavities, the building’s envelope and more data points can determine the cause(s) of specific health concerns and provide the groundwork for remedial action.

Another option to get started finding post hurricane dangers in a building is economical DIY test kits. There are different types of kits available, such as the evalu air kit, that can be used to collect environmental samples for laboratory analysis. Microbial samples can be tested by using culture or non-culture based methods. If elevated levels microbes or VOCs are reported, then it is best to consult with an indoor environmental professional for a more comprehensive evaluation, analysis and remedial recommendations.

The Department of Homeland Security and FEMA issued a Major Disaster Declaration on September 10, 2017 for the state of Florida. DHS acting director Elaine Duke stated nearly 22,000 federal personnel are in Florida to assist in the recovery.

When To Pay Someone to Help With Your Business Social Media

When to Pay Someone to Help With Your Business’ Social Media

Social media started out easy for business owners.  Back in the day, you’d open a Facebook account with the name of your business, and then go in search of “friends”.  Then, things got complicated.  First, they said businesses couldn’t have individual accounts, then they created groups, then they created pages, then they made it harder and harder for businesses to gain an audience without paying for advertising.  And, that’s just Facebook!  Add in Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and others, and it gets rather confusing.

If you’re a business owner, how do you know if it’s time to hire a social media manager (either as a full time worker or on a contract basis) to help you?

If you don’t have the time to do it right.  This is a pretty obvious one.  If you don’t have the time to do the job right, that must mean your business is doing pretty well.  It can be time-consuming to come up with content to share online, like articles, photos, videos, or even simple social media posts.  When you add in managing comments and questions, it can get to be too much if you’re trying to run a business at the same time.

If you don’t understand social media for businesses.  Most everyone uses at least one social media outlet these days, but promoting your business on social media is different than liking and commenting on your sister-in-law’s baby pictures.  If you’re not sure how it’s different, it’s best to find someone who does.

If you’re not a good writer.  You don’t have to be Tolstoy to create a good social media post, but you don’t want it to be riddled with grammatical and spelling errors either.  People aren’t likely to want to come back to read more of your posts if they have trouble deciphering them.

If what you’re doing isn’t working.  Do you find that when you post something on Facebook, no one likes it, shares it, or comments?  Do you not get any retweets on Twitter or likes on Instagram?  Everyone has a post or two that don’t do as well as expected, but if that’s the case with nearly everything you’re posting, it’s time to think about getting some help.

If you’ve been burned before.  A lot of business owners push their social media management onto the nearest young employee.  They’re young … they must know about this stuff, right?  Not necessarily.  Many, many companies have ended up looking bad because they went this route.  I’ll go back to an earlier point, where I said that using social media is not the same as knowing how to manage a social media presence for a business.

Pharmacists Sanjeev Hansraj Seenath interview Healthcare Professional In Jacksonville Florida

Helping others ,what does this mean when it comes to career options? A Man with enthusiasm and expertise for the sciences decided to enter the workforce as a Doctor. He is one of our young scholars, now with a title attached to his name Sanjeev Hansraj Seenath; he is now armed with the ability to help those that are in need of healthcare.

In a brief interview he told me a little bit about himself, he first started with how he got into college “I always had a passion for the sciences especially chemistry and a desire to help others,” he wrote this on his college application, “and so the opportunity to care for others and help heal the sick is something that I can’t resist.”

Dr. Sanjeev Hansraj Seenath specifically chooses the role of Doctor of Pharmacy because a Pharmacist can be the major puzzle piece that connects the Physician and Patient to complete the health triad. Dr. Seenath explains that the Pharmacist is the final checkpoint the patient passes before going home. It is at this point that counseling for medication safety and effectiveness should be reiterated to the patient and their family.

The importance of the therapy as well as side effects of the medications should be provided and explained to each patient. Prior to becoming a Doctor of Pharmacy, Sanjeev has done some pretty impressive things; he spent most of his time at the Mayo Clinic where if he wasn’t volunteering he was working hand in hand with medical Scientists to understand molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis and tumor progression.

He identified aberrant signaling pathways that could potentially be used for creating novel molecular cancer therapeutics. Dr. Seenath knack for learning new things and helping those who are in need of a helping hand doesn’t just stop here. He was very active during his Pharmacy school career. He is the founder of the first ever Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Chapter.

With his newly founded organization Dr. Seenath allocated funding and arranged for student Pharmacist trips all over the Globe that would expose his fellow classmates to non traditional roles of Pharmacy and Medicine around the world.

Not only was Dr. Seenath proactive in the classroom but outside the classroom he was extremely involved. He volunteered on weekends at the homeless shelter dishing out meals and providing basic care to the residents. Dr. Seenath would then become affiliated with Helping Hands Community Foundation.

Dr. Seenath soon became the President of Helping Hands and in collaboration with local Pharmacies and Medical Offices orchestrated free Health Fairs; providing free blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and HIV screening to underprivileged members of thecommunity. Dr. Sanjeev Hansraj Seenath is an exemplary one of a kind young man and we want to recognize him as the most influential Healthcare professional in the Jacksonville  community.

DENNY STRICKLAND IS CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’ WITH HOT NEW SINGLE

0

DENNY STRICKLAND IS CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’ WITH HOT NEW SINGLE Country music singer Denny Strickland is heading full throttle into 2018 with some big things on tap, including a brand new single, “California Dreamin’,” which was just released to radio last week. The song about the mesmerizing powers of a West Coast girl who proves more than hard to forget is right in Denny’s wheelhouse as a self-professed romantic who wears his feelings on his chest. The title track of his latest album, he penned the song with Troy Johnson and Henry Jack Williams, and admits he finds himself almost getting lost in the feeling of it sometimes when he’s on stage performing it for the fans.

“California Dreamin is one of those songs that paints a picture of a real place and a real feeling,” explains Denny about the new tune. “When I’m on stage I’m truly believing every word I’m singing and the world I’ve created through my music.”

Produced by Big & Rich producer Sean Giovanni, the song follows up Denny’s last single, “We Don’t Sleep,” which reached #17 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart in 2017 and included an accompanying video which spent three weeks at No. 1 on CMT Music’s 12 Pack Countdown.

Denny will return to the road, heading to Flint, MI and Daytona, OH this month before hitting the legendary Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa for a show in March and a full slate of shows throughout the Spring and Summer.

The Arkansas native with equal love for country and 80’s rock, has opened for many national acts, and is excited to take his new music to the fans in 2018. Recently selected by Rolling Stone in October as one of the “10 Country Artists You Need To Know,” Denny describes his hybrid style and philosophy towards his music, saying “I’m very open-minded. Anytime someone wants to talk about the old school or the new school, I’m very intrigued, especially when I’m talking to other artists. I want to know what they’re passionate about, what drives them. Because I know what drives me. “There are so many interesting things out there with technology and the studio. But I love to tell stories. Country is known for that – that’s one genre where you can tell a story.”

Stay tuned for the latest chapter in Denny’s own story – there’s sure to be plenty to come for this talented young artist who leaves it all out on the stage night after night.

Denny Strickland’s love for the West Coast culture uniquely blends with his Arkansas country roots to create music that feels like a throwback and an expression of modern romantic expression. On the road from age 5 showing horses, Strickland taught himself to play the guitar and write songs. Denny began to play regional gigs and caught the eye of The Statler Brothers’ longtime manager (And Bass player for Johnny Cash), Marshall Grant. Grant’s passing in 2011 set the wheels in motion for Strickland’s move to Nashville, reigniting his music career on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart with his debut hits “Swerve On” and the club anthem “Get A Grip”. Strickland co-produced his debut album, California Dreamin with producer Sean Giovanni, which was released in 2017, producing the #17 MusicRow Country Breakout hit “We Don’t Sleep”. Strickland has writing credits on six of the 10 tracks on the project, including the new single “California Dreamin”.
