Bestselling author Katherine Sheldon merged two passions into big business

0

Now, having experienced the challenges of entrepreneurial growth, she launched a growth coaching practice to help other women succeed.

“I always loved the idea of being in business for myself,” says entrepreneur Katherine Sheldon, “the idea that when you own your own business, it can really be limitless.” What she didn’t think about, at first, was what type of business she would start. But when she reflected on her 12 years in healthcare management, providig services for children with autism or other mental health and behavioral challenges, she quickly recognized that she did not want to leave that world behind.

For two years, she did both: She continued to work as a supervisor within New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care while starting her own company, Prasada In Home, a therapeutic and behavioral health staffing agency, until she had grown her company enough to leave her other job. “When I left, I was actually able to partner with them and they’re still my biggest referral source. It’s great because we all know when you’re building a business so much of it is about relationships. So I was fortunate to really be able to meld both my passions: running a successful business and then continuing to help kids with behavioral and health challenges.”

Now that Prasada In Home is celebrating its fifth year in business, Kathy is ready to give back. “Going through the startup phase of a business tends to be easy, as scary as it is,” she says. “But when you get to that second, third, and fourth year, that’s when it gets the most challenging.” Her particular challenges included launching some programming that didn’t work the way she’d expected and having to come up with a Plan B.

Kathy’s biggest message to her coaching clients is: Absolutely never give up! And don’t go into entrepreneurship thinking you’ll give it a year and then go back to Corporate America. “It takes more than a year,” she says. It takes more than three years.” So don’t quit, because the momentum might be just around the corner.

You can read more of Katherine Sheldon’s story, including her advice for parents whose kids have been struggling during the Covid pandemic, in the inspiring new book Women Who Boss Up Post-Pandemic, by Tam Luc, the author, educator, and podcaster dedicated to helping women “boss up.” The book collects 16 interviews with women who are side hustlers and multitaskers, who faced the uncertainties of the Covid pandemic—and other obstacles—by embracing their strengths and finding their authentic paths. They have so much to share and to teach, and while every story is unique, there is creativity and perseverance at the core of each one.

Bestselling author Julie Hewett builds small habits to reach big goals

0

Practice visualizing where you want to be in one year, five years, and even further into the future so that you can take intentional action today.

Julie Hewett started her career as a virtual assistant to entrepreneurs, then launched her own association management company. In those positions she had to be dedicated to details and organization, so it’s no wonder she has developed a structure for how she works with coaching clients in her latest business, guiding them toward their life and business goals. She created an acronym—FOCUS—for the five elements around which she helps clients gain clarity.

First up is Financials, really knowing where your revenue is coming from. Next is your Organizational chart, which could refer to your team of employees or, if you’re a team of one, it could refer to the vendors you work with or any strategic partners you have. The C represents Customers or Clients: How are you finding, retaining, and serving them? Julie calls U “the fun part,” because it’s about you as the business owner: What are you bringing to the table? Are you achieving what you expected to achieve by building the business? Last are the entrepreneur’s Systems—specifically, systems of operations and accountability. “Without them,” she explains, “a business is not going to grow.” Looking at all the areas together, Julie helps people bring their entire business into focus.

As a female entrepreneur herself, Julie loves working with other women business owners, and guiding them to take those first steps. “Part of it is really understanding what you want it to look like in the end. And if you’re not sure what the end is, let’s look at five years from now. And if that’s still too difficult, let’s look at one year from now, with as much clarity as you can possibly get. And then start thinking about why you are doing this in the first place. Get really clear on the why. And then when you put those two together, magic happens.” She recommends making this type of thinking and visualizing a habit, even 15 minutes per day. Then you can prioritize your time and tasks and move forward intentionally. Check out Julie’s services and blog posts at juliehewett.com or connect with her on Instagram and Facebook @JKHewett.

You can read more about Julie, who is also an 11-year cancer survivor, in the inspiring new book Women Who Boss Up Post-Pandemic, by Tam Luc, the author, educator, and podcaster dedicated to helping women “boss up.” The book collects interviews with female entrepreneurs who have succeeded despite obstacles, Covid included, by finding the confidence to keep moving forward. Their stories are unique, and yet each of them is a rich resource of motivation and learning for all women working toward major life and business goals.

Bestselling author Ina Hansen knows a narcissist when she sees one

0

As a life coach, she helps women recognize that they are in toxic relationships by explaining trauma bonding and love bombs

It seems like a crazy question: Why would a woman stay in a relationship with a toxic, manipulative, controlling partner—a narcissist? The answer, as Ina Hansen knows, is actually very complicated.

There is an inner void that the narcissist is filling. For Ina, it was an unstable chaotic childhood with unconscious unavailable parents. A narcissist — very attentive to a woman’s needs at first — will love bomb you immediately (compliment you constantly), mirror your likes, dislikes and act very agreeable. At least that’s how it seems in the beginning.

“It all stems from your childhood,” Ina says. “Was it that you didn’t have a father growing up or your parents were unavailable to you emotionally? It doesn’t have to be a traumatic event, It could just be that your parents didn’t know how to love you because of their own unhealed trauma. If your parents/caregivers didn’t teach you as a young child how to fill yourself up and never felt good enough, you will constantly be seeking external validation, which is why “you are a perfect target for someone who is toxic and who wants to latch onto you.”

When a narcissist has you hooked, an emotional bond, called trauma bonding forms between you and the abuser.

And when the narcissist eventually shows his true colors, (explodes over something most people wouldn’t) you come up with excuses for him: “He’s never done this before, it must be stress, he’s had a tough day”. And when he decides to end the silent treatment after his blowup, which can last for days, and starts “love bombing” her again, making her feel good enough, you resume the relationship like nothing happened. It’s like getting a hit of the drug you are now addicted to. No wonder it is so hard to break free.

In her coaching practice, Ina helps women figure out “why” they were attracted to the narcissist, so she can help them heal through a trauma-informed lens, and never again be a target for a toxic person. “Do the inner work on yourself to break that bond,” she says. “There is a beautiful life waiting for you.” When you are free from the drama, you have the space and peace to start healing, think about your dreams and your values. As Ina puts it, “You are no longer stuck in survival mode, (fight, flight, freeze, and fawn), as if you are being chased by a tiger” It is time to start your new chapter.

My Quote: Everything I’m going through is happening for me, to keep healing and growing living my m

Bestselling author Hilda Gan on helping managers “uplift” their employees

0

Tap into their unique skills, respect and value their contributions, and they will love coming to work every day.

Hilda Gan has a distinct memory. She is having dim sum with her family in a restaurant in Toronto’s Chinatown. She’s seven years old, and the restaurant owner, Jean Lumb, is talking to her. Not just to her; she’s actually talking with her — as if she is her equal, as if she is truly interested in her. Hilda remembers how that made her feel: respected, seen, important.

Now the president and “chief people officer” of People Bright Consulting, Hilda tries to get corporate leaders to understand what a difference it can make to their employees if they feel valued and respected the way seven-year-old Hilda did. She gives them an acronym, REVUP, to remind them of the steps to take: Respect, Equality, Valued, Uniqueness, and Potential. “This is a set of principles and values that help people connect with themselves first of all, and then, as leaders, help them make other people feel empowered and uplifted.”

Hilda brings her own leadership experience to her consulting practice, including as a nurse, healthcare consultant, and executive with her husband’s IT company. In all cases, she has prioritized developing relationships with people — something that can’t be done in a day. “As a manager, you might talk to a person every day or you might talk to them only once a week,” she says. “But when you do talk to them, find a connection, create a relationship, because when you create a relationship, you create trust. And when people trust you, they are willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.” You might not know when you’ll need the good will that you have built up, but that day will come.

You can read more about Hilda’s journey, including how the loss of her father when she was only 10 years old shaped her character traits, in the inspiring new book Women Who Boss Up Post-Pandemic, by Tam Luc, the author, educator, and podcaster dedicated to helping women “boss up.” The book collects 16 interviews with women who are side hustlers and multitaskers, who faced the uncertainties of the Covid pandemic — and other obstacles — by embracing their strengths and finding their authentic paths. Overcoming years of abuse, bestselling author Falguni Yogi now helps others

0

Don’t waste time, she tells clients. Paths open up when you take that first step.

Falguni Yogi spent years in an extremely abusive marriage, returning to her husband in the belief that if she left him, he would lose everything. It was up to her, she thought, to save him. For women who are stuck in the same pattern, Falguni has a message: “Don’t waste your time. Sometimes we think that we can help that person, but it never happens. They don’t think that there is anything wrong with them, so they don’t want any help. We women are natural caretakers, so we want to take care of our family. But if the situation is getting out of control, get out. Have faith in yourself and in God. Paths open up when we take a step.”

A native of India, Falguni had to deal with leaving her abusive marriage in a country not her own with no family to rely on. At the same time she was grieving the death of her father. After staying in a shelter, she was able to move in with family friends in a new city, Dallas, but she was on her own to figure out how to survive.

An accountant by training in India, Falguni thought she would find a job in accounting or in IT—a job where she would earn a significant salary and be able to care for herself. Then an appointment with an astrologer changed everything. In the US, Falguni says, when people have problems or issues they contact therapists or coaches. In her native India, people contact astrologers. The astrologer she met with told her she should not be in accounting or IT. “Your hands have healing power,” he said. “You should go into a healing business.” It was not what Falguni wanted to hear! But she trusted him, and her career as an energy healer was born.

Read more about Falguni’s fascinating life story in the inspiring new book Women Who Boss Up Post-Pandemic, by Tam Luc, the author, educator, and podcaster dedicated to helping women “boss up.” The book collects 16 interviews with women who are side hustlers and multitaskers, who faced the uncertainties of the Covid pandemic—and other obstacles—by embracing their strengths and finding their authentic paths. Bestselling author Deb Norr helps the “average Joe” build legacy wealth

0

She never thought she had the means or the smarts to invest. Now she knows better and is showing others that building wealth is within their reach

After decades of customer service and other 9-to-5 jobs in Corporate America, Deborah Norr has made her side hustle her full-time career. As a real estate investor and consultant, she helps clients who might not be sure they can even buy a first home and then goes further to show people how investing in real estate might help them reach their financial goals. “When I worked in Corporate America, I always felt like there had to be something more than just working and surviving,” Deb says. “How can I create a living? An actual living, a real living, where you have more than enough to pay your expenses and then there’s enough to put away for rainy days. And there’s enough to go on vacation or help your family or help friends when they need it.”

When she found that real estate could lead her to realize that dream, she became excited about sharing her experience with others. Not just the benefits of real estate, but the new lifestyle she gained by turning her side hustle into her own business. “I put this off for a very long time thinking that I could figure it out on my own,” she says, “so if I had to give one piece of advice, it would be to get a mentor or a coach that has done exactly what it is that you want to do, or at least is in the field that you want to be in. Obviously, a swim coach can’t help you with your running. But that is the one thing that I had put off for many, many, many years. And since I started working with a coach, I see how it was absolutely absurd to think that I could do it myself.”

You can read more about Deb Norr’s journey from bank teller to business owner in the inspiring new book Women Who Boss Up Post-Pandemic, by Tam Luc, the author, educator, and podcaster dedicated to helping women “boss up.” The book collects 16 interviews with women who are side hustlers and multitaskers, who faced the uncertainties of the Covid pandemic—and other obstacles—by embracing their strengths and finding their authentic paths. They have so much to share and to teach, and while every story is unique, there is creativity and perseverance at the core of each one.

Dr. Leong Partnership – Dermatology and Plastic Surgery is a Unique Union

0

ZENA Medical Announces Partnership with Dr. Leong for a Unique Union of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery

ZENA Medical is elevating skincare and cosmetic medicine by offering patients the best of both worlds in one place with the partnership between Dr. Karen Leong and Dr. Zenovia Gabriel. Dr. Leong is a highly sought-after plastic surgeon with impressive training from some of the world’s most respected physicians. Dr. Zena Gabriel as she’s known to her patients — is a world-renowned, award-winning dermatologist. Together, they can offer patients in Newport Beach and beyond a comprehensive skincare and cosmetic rejuvenation experience unlike any other.

The physician team, with their combined expertise, collaborate on all things skin and even deeper – from skin cancer removal and surgical reconstructions to facelift surgeries coupled with laser resurfacing and comprehensive skin care. “The synergy between dermatology and plastic surgery offers the best possible outcome for our patients because we address all the facets of the human body from the superficial to the deep: skin, muscle, and bone,” says, Dr. Zena.

We believe that dermatology and plastic surgery fit together perfectly; our goal is to bring harmony to their own natural look so that you can be and feel like a better version of themselves.

Skin cancer patients benefit greatly from this partnership as well. Mohs Micrographic surgery with Dr. Zena Gabriel successfully removes the cancer in its entirety with minimal loss of healthy tissue. Then Dr. Leong employs her plastic surgeon’s artistic eye to close the surgical site with minimal scarring and the best cosmetic result.

Another benefit of a combined dermatology and plastic surgery practice is determining what patients don’t need. With the trust, honesty, and thoroughness that a dermatologist and plastic surgeon provide, patients are educated on what they need and don’t need. Many times, patients may believe more extensive treatment is necessary, however our approach is to do less and give you only natural, “undone” results.

ZENA Medical’s dermatologist and plastic surgeon are bound by this common thread. We each appreciate the same subtle, artistic angle and that allows us to achieve natural results. Whether we recommend light fillers to enhance a facelift or laser scar resurfacing after a skin cancer procedure, we work in tandem to produce the optimal outcome.

The timing of this partnership couldn’t be better. Many patients use the prevalence of paid time off during the New Year as the perfect time to seek their best skin health and aesthetic treatments. There really is no better time to take care of one’s self than the new year!

ZENA Medical represents the best in patient care because we stay true to our relationships and we always put our patients first.  Our desire is to be a trusted, evidence-based authority on advanced dermatological, aesthetic and surgical treatments. Our patients know they are receiving the most thoughtful and comprehensive care.

National Data Group Adapts: Email Lists Pave The Way

0
One of the most respected email list providers in the country has launched a group of new and selected lists unmatched in the industry. They have gained a reputation by helping their clients to increase their ROI day after day, month after month, year after year.

A lead generation and data amalgamation company that has over 15 years of industry experience providing Consumer Email Lists, Business Email Lists, Marketing Lists, Email Broadcasting, Email Lists and Direct Mailing Lists has become one of the most recognized names in their field. National Data Group who was Nominated for 2021 Media Innovator Award has also been recognized as one of the Best In List Services of 2021 and 2022.

The quality lead provider has today announced they have added new databases to increase client returns across all verticals. The new databases are helping marketing experts to target the right people who could be interested in a product or service. These lists are more vital now than ever before with the Global pandemic affecting businesses all over the world.

As a list service, National Data Group specializes in email lists for consumers and businesses. With its full delivery guarantee and ongoing compliance with CAN-SPAM regulations, this Nebraska-based company can provide numerous list options and tailored email broadcasting options. Whether people are looking to reach a household with occupants of a specific demographic or a business with fewer than 50 employees and 10 locations in a selected area, National Data Group can get their company out in front of the right people.

One of the biggest complaints marketing experts have when they buy email lists is outdated information and not providing relevant contact details. National Data Group Inc email lists are up to date and are supplied on their client’s needs. When asked to explain how clients looking for a quality email marketing list can be assured, they are getting a list that is relevant and can help improve sales, a spokesman for National Data Group Inc replied:

“A client will come to us and provide the type of people they are looking for. If a client came to us and said they wanted people between a certain age who loved bikes, then we could provide them that list. That means, they are receiving a credible list and not targeting the wrong people.”

The company has become one of the most recommended suppliers of email marketing lists. Before the email marketing list is sent to the client it is vetted first. This is to confirm that every single name on that list could become a positive lead and turn into a sale.

A spokesman for Headline Plus who undertook the research explained:

“Your particular needs will greatly impact your final price from National Data Group. Since every business is different, it’s hard to get a sense of what you’ll ultimately pay without reaching out to the company directly.”

“Our research into National Data Group included us posing as a small business owner in need of a new email list for businesses and consumers in our area. Just as we did with every other list broker service, we asked for generic lists that covered a specific geographic area. After explaining our criteria, we received a quote that was broken down by the number of leads per list.”

Frequent updates: Like any reputable list provider, National Data Group regularly updates its databases daily to ensure the email addresses it provides are extremely accurate, so you can confidently purchase its lists and count on results.

Veteran producer LA FLAME breathes new life into Trap Soul and Trap Music

0

We all want to leave something behind. We want a legacy, something that endures beyond us. We yearn to create something that will last. From the time LA FLAME discovered music, he knew exactly what he wanted his legacy to be. LA FLAME’s passion for rhythm began when he developed an interest in percussion. “I’ve been in a band since the second grade,” said LA FLAME, “and I started playing drums in high school.”

LA FLAME established his own record label, Amschel Records, and officially began his production career in 2001. LA FLAME is the owner of the LA FLAME, Ella Mai and Lil Wayne trademarks. LA FLAME said  “I have my sights set on a few more trademarks that I plan to aquire.” In his production style, LA FLAME is a zealous devotee of Reggaeton, Trap, and Trap Soul music. Or as LA FLAME himself put it, “I am the original founder of Trap and Trap Soul Music.”

LA FLAME’s previous work includes producing early tracks for Chris Brown. “I was there when he [Brown] and T-Pain signed their deals with Jive Records.” Amschel said he has also written and produced for artists like Jagged Edge, The Weeknd, Trey Songz, Bryson Tiller, and Lil Baby. “I first met The Weeknd at Lancaster City College in 2012,” LA FLAME remembered. “That’s before he blew up.”

LA FLAME’s artistic repertoire isn’t just limited to the recording console. “When you listen to those background vocals on some of H.E.R.’s tracks,” LA FLAME recalled, “that’s me singing those background vocals.” Spotify users can find a complete list of  LA FLAME’s discography via the “Amschel’s Hits” playlist.

His latest track, “Dreamin,” “Dreamin” is a Trap Soul fan’s fantasy made into reality. It has a mellow, dreamy air that sets the listener at ease. LA FLAME provides somber, echo-laden verses.

“Dreamin” is the beginning of a new era for LA FLAMES’s career. LA FLAME said he has tracks in the works featuring the likes of Jacquees, Trey Songz, Justin Bieber, Ella Mai and Summer Walker. Furthermore, he is always seeking artists to work with. Whether they are rising stars or veteran acts, LA FLAME is interested. “I’m currently looking for artists to work with,” said LA FLAME. “I have a ton of beats.”

“Dreamin” is available across all streaming platforms soon.
