ATLANTA, Ga – July 7, 2021 – WNBA Atlanta Dream former player now turned co-owner, Renee Montgomery, has recently launched an all-women’s unique pickup experience complete with in-game stats along with a celebrity studded audience to play for. Superstars from Migos’ Quavo to WNBA 2021 All-Star Courtney Williams are just a few among the high-profile guest list.
According to reps, the goal of Renee’s Runs is to make pickup games more accessible to women in the community and uplift women’s sports culture in Atlanta. In collaboration with the Renee Montgomery Foundation and tech partner 1891 Club, using The James™ technology app, there will be live stat-keeping which also includes health analytics. The stats are then displayed on the Leaderboard to show the ratings for each of the runs as well as the top stat categories.
“We all know how hard it is to find a women’s pickup game but we’re changing that,” Montgomery said. “We want to promote health and wellness to young women in the community of Atlanta and even visitors where they can easily find a free professionally run pickup game that’s a great workout, competitive, just catch a vibe and even network.”
Renee’s Runs are held every Monday and Thursday in College Park at Hoop Nation ATL, owned by Atlanta Dream player, Tiffany Hayes. This Thursday, July 8, rapper Quavo will make a guest appearance in support of “Renee’s Runs” and Montgomery’s nonprofit foundation, along with other celebrity guests. Montgomery has also secured big name sponsors including Spalding as the official ball sponsor, Red Bull and Round 21. Registrations are held every Monday and Thursday and spots are limited to 30 players, with a limited waitlist.
