Richard Mille RM 030 – A Comprehensive Review

Overview:

Unveiled in Mexico city during the SIAR 2015, the RM 030 is as close to a perfect watch as you can get. The newest version of the RM 030, the Black Dash is covered in black, with red scarlet details to complement it.

The Black Dash has incorporated unmatched materials coupled with an innovative movement that is hand-finished, to come up with unmatched performance and style levels. The case band is made up of light but highly durable NTPT carbon, while the back and front bezels comprise Black, sand-blasted TZP ceramic.

Dial:

The stunning skeletonized dial has black, white, and red contrasting accents, along with Arabic numerals. The latest RM 030 is one of those timepieces that absorbs the entire DNA of the Richard Mille brand, and reflects it back towards the user in the form of dazzling looks. The 7’o clock contains a date aperture and on/off position, while the 9 and 12 consist of a power reserve indicator and declutch able rotor indicator, respectively.

The Case, Crown, And Strap:

The watch has the conventional tripartite case design which Richard Mille is so well known for. Along with that, the RM 030 also brags the classic tonneau case. The Black Dash has a sand-blasted Black TZP back and front, while the case band consists of the light and durable NTPT carbon. The measurements of the case are: 50 millimeters x 42.70 millimeters x 13.95 millimeters.

The watch also has a black rubber strap and crown, while the indicators, hands, and Arabic numerals have been designed in white and red, to maximize legibility. One of the features of the rubber strap is the conventional vents, equipped with folding spring dual clasp (patented by Chanel) – classic Richard Mille.

Movement:

The case of the RM 030 contains an automatic caliber that features a rotor which can be automatically declutched. Through such a system, the winding barrel automatically disconnects from the winding mechanism of the rotor, as soon as the spring is wound fully. Furthermore, the system is connected directly to the power reserve indicator to ensure ideal winding control. Such a process will allow the movement, as well as the oscillator to function with the optimal ratio of consistent power/torque, resulting in maximum chronometric performance. The movement can sustain a power reserve of up to fifty hours, and has an exquisite finish, executed with fifth-grade titanium, white gold, and steel to design the ribs.

On The Wrist:

Once worn, the RM 030 is immensely comfortable and true to the size. In fact, the degree of comfort is so high that you won’t even feel the watch on your wrist.

The RM 030 Black Dash is certainly a must-have item for watch lovers and enthusiasts. The good news is that this highly sought-after timepiece is easily available at Gray and Sons, along with a range of other unique and priceless watches from multiple brands.
