San Diego Surf Takes On The Challenge As The Oceanside Surf

Oceanside, CA – August 6, 2021 – The San Diego Surf Men’s Pro Basketball Team has moved to the city of Oceanside. The organization has spent the last 12 years as the San Diego Surf since the rebirth of the American Basketball Association, ABA in 2009.

“We are sad to leave the city of San Diego, but at the same time excited to be a part of the rejuvenation of the city of Oceanside”, Elizabeth Reitz, CEO of Canal Communications Group INC.

This change comes on The heels of the change in ownership in April, 2021. Canal Communications Group INC, a conglomerate that owns a vegan cosmetics line as well as a non-profit youth foundation; purchased the San Diego Surf Men’s Pro Basketball team and the San Diego Sprint Women’s Pro Basketball team from the former owner, Ross Kurland.

The organization recognized the need to enhance both teams to create a strong pipeline to assist these athletes to improve their skill sets and have the opportunity to gain exposure to the NBA, WNBA and top professional leagues over seas.

“Oceanside is a beautiful city for the surf team to achieve new beginnings. The organization hopes to bring the women’s team into Oceanside next season. We want to become an intrigal part of the city through our sport and community service for years to come”, Elizabeth Reitz, CEO of Canal Communications Group INC.
