SEO First is celebrating 15 years in business serving the Orange County, California area as well as nationwide clients.
SEO First is a search engine optimization and digital marketing firm that first opened its doors in Laguna Beach, California in July of 2004. At that time, the business was known as SEO Resource (seoresource.net).
Several years later, the business rebranded itself to SEO First (seofirst.com) and added other digital marketing services such as PPC advertising, social media marketing, press release advertising and email marketing to its repertoire of offerings.
According to founder Kevin Kantola, “I started doing SEO in 1999 on a part-time basis in order to advance my online funny t-shirt business. I hired an SEO to help me with this, and yes there were a few of them back then. I then learned the craft by watching and doing and putting up additional websites and experimenting. SEO was the wild, wild west back then as there were no mainstream best practices, college courses or even widely accepted consensus on how to achieve results.”
What started out as a part-time venture in 1999 turned into a full-time adventure in 2004 as both Orange County and national clients were added to the roster.
According to Mr. Kantola, “My first customer, after going full-time in 2004, was a Doctor in Newport Beach who wanted to sell contact lenses online. He was very happy with the results and because of this early success I was confident that I could make a go of this business.”
And 15 years later this statement has proven to be true. Over time, SEO First has added web designers, link builders and other marketers to the team. Mr. Kantola is very grateful for all of the outstanding clients who have helped SEO First to grow to what it is today and looks forward to helping people and their businesses for many years come.
