Sun Point Counseling’s Director of Internship Services Shadena Natty Announces Masters Candidate Therapy Team

Lancaster, PA – The mental health professionals at Sun Point Wellness Center are dedicated to providing pro bono and sliding scale counseling services with their Masters Candidate Therapist Team. Directed by Shadena Natty, this program starts by empowering graduate students to gain knowledge through their internship site, and provides them the opportunity for premier clinical learning experience at one of Pennsylvania’s most trusted mental health centers. These counselors will continue the center’s tradition offering affordable counseling services for any budget.

“We believe finances should not be an obstacle to getting counseling and therapy,” said Director and Primary Therapist Laura Morse. “We are looking for experienced primary therapists with two years of clinical professional or internship mental health experience to join us and our mission to offer our community affordable mental health care.”

This Masters Candidate Therapist program is currently accepting applications for fall and spring 2022-23 (both semesters are required). The very rigorous internship is designed for graduate students who plan to work in outpatient clinical counseling post-graduation. Internship graduate students who are desiring a full clinical caseload may visit the application site to get the process started.

The role of the MCT private therapist is to provide a compassionate, balanced approach to evidence based therapy that is designed for individuals and families. These practitioners will have expertise in leading individual counseling sessions, address sex and relationship issues, and provide EMDR therapy. They will empower people to live their best lives by overcoming traumas, improving coping skills and utilizing positive cognitive reframing strategies.

“We are excited about this new expansion to the counseling team because it will help so many people in need,” said director Shadena Natty. “We have endeavored to assemble the very best therapists, at affordable rates, and have openings for new clients immediately.”

Currently four MCT’s have been accepted and they include: Anushska Mohapatra from The Pennsylvania State University, Taleshala Yates from Edinboro University,  Dominik Berthhold from Millersville University and John Thomas from Millersville University.  Natty will allow applicants to apply within the next 4 weeks.

The interview process for these positions is competitive. Applicants will be contacted regarding scheduling an interview within 48 hours of receiving.
