Systema Greenville offers Russian Martial Art classes

Russian Martial Art Classes are taught by Bobby Schwartz and Jake Pyhala who are both Certified Instructors in Systema Russian Martial Arts by Vladimir Vasiliev.

 

One of the most respected martial arts schools in South Carolina is teaching students Russian Martial Arts. The classes are held at Systema Greenville martial art school, and are available for men and women over the age of sixteen.

 

The Russian martial art classes are taught by Bobby Schwartz and Jake Pyhala who are both Certified Instructors in Systema Russian Martial Arts by Vladimir Vasiliev. The classes are to teach people Systema which is not just a martial art, it’s also a healing art and a great way to get in shape. Students are taught the four pillars of Russian Martial Arts  which include breathing ,structure, movement, and relaxation.  Fundamentals of punching, kicking, and self-defense  are incorporated into each class. The first class is free for those that sign up on the Systeme Greenville website.

 

Systema is not the most common form of martial arts outside of Russia, but it is growing in popularity. It was designed for self-defense in the late twentieth century. Those in Russian special forces “Spetznaz”, the old KGB, and other Russian soldiers were taught Systema due to how effective it is. It has also been featured in the popular TV show The Americans.

 

Students attending the classes can will be taught by some of the best-certified trainers in their field. The classes consist of students learning new exercises and then working in pairs with a partner to try out them out. The Classes are every Thursday night and Sunday afternoon at Cleveland Park* in Greenville, SC, at 7:15 pm and 1:30 pm respectively, and last about 1 1/2 – 2 hours. *Make sure to register with us as we hold indoor classes as well.

 

Bobby Schwartz described the classes as a great form of exercise. While learning important self-defense you can also improve health and learn how to reduce tension in all aspects of life. He said most who who join Russian Martial Art classes get along and become friends. He also said the school is for those that want to learn self-defense, no matter if they are a beginner or have had previous martial arts experience. “All skill levels are welcome.”

 

Jake Phyala explained that although Systema is a Martial Art and great for learning self-defense, it is also great for the mind, body, and soul. “A lot of people who come to our classes have said that after each class they feel so much energy and feel more positive about themselves”, explained Jake.
