Washington, DC – Feb 6, 2023 – The Embassy Row Project, is proud to announce the launch of the Emancip8 Project, a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting women’s empowerment in developing countries. With a focus on human trafficking survivors, child abuse survivors, and women from disenfranchised communities, the Emancip8 Project will provide education, training, and employment opportunities in the fields of environmental sustainability, carbon reduction, science, and technology, and international trade.
“We started working on this project in 2018 and it’s excellent to finally see this NGO take off,” said James Scott, founder of the Embassy Row Project. “In 2023 we’re launching in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America and we’re confident that the Emancip8 Project will make a significant impact in the lives of the women enrolled in this program who reside in underserved communities in disenfranchised regions of the world.”
The Emancip8 Project will collaborate with other Embassy Row Project institutes, think tanks, NGOs, trade missions, and initiatives to provide comprehensive support and resources for women in developing countries. The Executive Leadership program, for instance, will assist women with bachelor’s and graduate degrees in gaining dignified employment with a livable wage and an accelerated trajectory to executive and managerial positions in the fields of environmental sustainability, carbon reduction, science, and technology, and international trade.
Through education and training programs, building infrastructure, partnering with local organizations, investing in career development, and advocating for policies that support the hiring and promotion of women in sustainability and technology, the Emancip8 Project will empower women and improve their access to employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The Emancip8 Project’s women-led environmental programs will educate the commercial sector on carbon reduction and sustainability best practices by providing educational materials, training workshops, and technical assistance and consulting services. The project will also create and promote certifications and awards for businesses that demonstrate their commitment to carbon reduction and sustainability and engage with regulatory bodies to advocate for policies that encourage sustainability in the commercial sector.
