Webtunes Reintroduces Its Popular Guide Listing Live Music in Venues on the East Coast

Keeping Live Music Venues Alive Brings Civilization Back to Everyone

Severna Park, MD – November 9, 2020 – Today, Webtunes announced the reintroduction of its very popular guide listing live music for venues on the east coast. Webtunes was prompted to begin promoting concerts as certain US states relax entertainment restrictions for outdoor performances. These venues allow supporters of music to socialize and enjoy themselves once again. The live shows allow musicians, comedians, tech specialists, venues, chefs, servers and other staff to again make a decent living. Most shows will be outside, implementing safe social distancing to protect customers and the performers. Maps and the local weather reports are on the site to make the night easier.

Owner John Elder is excited to begin again. “Webtunes started as the guide called ‘Internotes,’ which I launched with my partners Gian and Anne in February 1995 during the Super Bowl. The name of the guide was changed to Webtunes in December 1995. We were a Manhattan company at the epicenter of clubs and live music. The guide grew as we added the Village Voice club advertisements, flyers, faxes and emails from venues and bands and any other live event listings that could be added to the database. Then we began categorizing band pages and venue pages so music lovers could follow their favorite acts and clubs, along with any news about the acts. As technology became more sophisticated, we added links to sound clips and downloaded great footage captured from filming some of the live shows. We were managing over 200 listings every day which was time consuming. However, the hardest part of all was choosing which bands to see.”

Webtunes wants to do everything it can to support performing artists and the event spaces and clubs that hire them. A lot of time that has passed, and Webtunes is looking forward to listing all of the new shows so far in Maryland, New York, Washington D.C., Virginia, Florida and Pennsylvania.
