The classic hourglass figure has curves in all the right places. A bust and chest curve into a narrow waist and the roll out to a set of hips.
Some women can achieve this class shape naturally. Some need the help of binding corsets and other undergarments. This is another option.
“You can reshape your body. We start with your bust, then waist, then hips. If you only need to adjust one or two areas, we can do that too,” said Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Ryan Stanton.
The process can involve breast augmentation. Implants will provide an upper chest curve if needed. Implants can also firm breasts so they need less support to maintain the desired shape.
Buttock augmentation means adding implants or removing body fat from certain areas on the hips. Dr. Stanton uses silicone implants, as needed, rather than fat transfer because the fat transfer methods often does not provide the desired shape.
For the abdominal region and the waist, Dr. Stanton said a tummy tuck and liposuction may be in order. Some women may need only one of these procedures and a few women who are already very thin will not need either surgery.
“If you are not sure what you need to achieve your ideal shape, we can help you decide. Our video editing service lets you see what you will look like after the surgeries,” he said. “Since we just use silicon implants, we can show exactly what the final results will be. Surgeons who offer fat transfers can only give you an estimate because you body will naturally remove much of the transplanted fat.”
Recovery time will vary depending on which procedures are needed, Dr. Stanton said.
