Macon, Georgia, (June 27, 2018): Edward Palmore is an acclaimed author who is known for his book titles Labyrinth Vol. I: A story of a young man’s sojourn in the Georgia Chain Gang and Labyrinth Vol. II: An ex-con’s attempt to escape and avoid marginalization as he exits state prison. He was born as well as raised in the city of Newark, New Jersey, a place where he also attended public schools and got his first exposure to education.
After his graduation from the University of Houston with a degree of Baccalaureate of Arts focusing United States History, Edward Palmore served with the US Army in Grafenwöhr, Germany where he was Air Defense Artillery lieutenant. Eventually, Dr Palmore attended Boston University School of Education where he got a doctorate in the subject of counseling psychology.
Edward Palmore was incarcerated in the State of Georgia for more than 18 years. He is the author of more than 50 books, poems, dramas, and song lyrics that focus on the struggles of black men due to marginalization which is so prevalent in the American society. With his works, Edward intends to create a platform for everyone to come together and discuss the various issues about the problems of black men’s marginalization in American society. After Edward Palmore left the prison, he never forgot the extreme conditions that he was led to enduring. He is now an advocate of greater awareness among the public about the impending social crisis of black marginalization.
He is widely known to the world for being an acclaimed author of such books as Labyrinth Vol. I: A story of a young man’s sojourn in the Georgia Chain Gang and Labyrinth Vol. II: An ex-con’s attempt to escape and avoid marginalization as he exits state prison. These books give an inside look at the extreme situations that black men have to face in American society.
The idea of writing Labyrinth came to Edward Palmore when one day he was sitting in the administrative segregation of the Coffee Correctional Facility which is a private prison based in southern Georgia. He wrote the manuscript of the book by keeping his papers over a chair that he made with a stack of books produced in short notice and a steel rack of a bunk that would function as a workable makeshift desk. A chance casual conversation with one of the fellow inmates gave him the idea to write the book Labyrinth.
