Las Cruces Community Theatre set to reveal 2018-2019 season at Season Reveal Party LCCT hosts special event to preview coming season

Las Cruces, NM, April 18, 2018 – A “great reveal” for Las Cruces area theater fans is promised by The Las Cruces Community Theatre (LCCT) as it prepares to unveil its upcoming slate of shows for the 2018-2019 season. It won’t happen in a brief announcement, a website post, or a press release; it’ll happen at a party.

With the 2017-18 performance year coming to an end, the leadership at Las Cruces Community Theatre were anxious to reveal the next season’s lineup and have decided to do this announcement with a “Season Revel Party” rather than traditional methods. The Season Reveal Party, happening on May 4, 2018 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the theater, will now be an annual event designed to give attendees “an exclusive first look” at the shows for the upcoming season and provide opportunity for a “salute” to supporters of the venue that has crafted fine community theater in the Las Cruces area for 55 years.

Las Cruces Community Theatre President, Janet Beatty-Payne explained why a Season Reveal Party was necessary, “We want to generate some excitement for this upcoming fantastic ‘not to be missed’ season,” Beatty-Payne explained. “we also really want to thank our supporters and stimulate volunteer interest and REALLY get this community involved, we are, after all, a Community Theater and want to get more of the community involved.” Mrs. Beatty-Payne went on to explain why she sees theaters such as LCCT as invaluable. “A live performance has an ability to touch you in a way that is totally different from film or television, because you are there, witnessing it first hand and reacting to it in a very beautiful give and take,” Beatty-Payne said. “The immediacy of a truly inspired performance can take your breath away.”

The agenda for the evening is a short cocktail hour followed by LCCT Vice President of Development, Actor, Director and Producer, Norman Lewis emceeing the actual “Reveal” of the season, ‘Special’ announcements and changes at LCCT [“You Talk, We Listen”], Season Pass/Subscriber sales opening, and the launch of the “Dinner and a Show” program. Additionally, the winner of the recent “One Act Play Festival” will be announced at the Reveal Party.

When asked why a Season Reveal Party, Mr. Lewis commented, “With a season as terrific as our 2018-2019 promises to be, we wanted no ordinary announcement. Since each of the 6 shows (plus the One Act Play Festival 2019) we will be presenting will be a major cultural event for Las Cruces, we decided to make the kick-off announcement an event as well. Although we ALL will have to wait for the Reveal Party to learn the actual shows, I can say we will be doing two comedies, two big Broadway musicals, and two classic dramas that really resonate in today’s America. Want more details? Come to the Reveal Party!”

The Season Reveal Party will also include complimentary food and hors d’oeuvres from local area restaurants, beer and wine from local breweries and wineries, musical entertainment in the form of selections from upcoming shows, door prizes, non-alcoholic beverages, and if that’s not enough, a surprise or two.

Tickets are free, but an R.S.V.P./Confirmation must be completed via the LCCT web-site ticketing program. Visit www.LcctNM.ORG, Click on the poster for “The Season Reveal Party”, Select the date, Friday May 4th, choose your seats and then Check Out. There is no actual charge, but you must RSVP with a credit card to confirm. This event will sell out and it is a “1st Come, 1st Served” program at LCCT.

Of note, there is still one show remaining for the in-progress 2017-2018 season:

LCCT Presents “Legally Blonde, The Musical” (Jun. 1-Jun. 17)
Starring Brianna Horvath in the role of ELLE. A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, “Legally Blonde-The Musical”, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances – this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal!
