Five times national boxing Champion who has ranked number one since he was nine years old was invited to meet the Mayor of Chicago.
One of the most exciting boxers of recent times was invited to meet Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Joseph Awinongya Jr, who has been ranked as number one since he was nine years old and is a 5x National Champion, met the Chicaco Mayor on September 30, 2019.
The Mayor of Chicago congratulated the boxer who trains out Chicago Park District gyms including Fuller Park and Taylor Park and Chicago Boxing Gym owned by Sam Colonna on his accomplishments.
When 12-year old Joseph Awinongya Jr was asked by the Chicago Mayor what his ultimate goal was, he replied, “I want to be in the 2028 Olympics and be an inspiration to youngsters in the U.S. and around the world.”
Boxing experts have said Joseph Awinongya Jr will achieve his dream of representing his country at the Olympics, and could become one of the most exciting boxers in history.
