American investment firm Iconia Capital LLC releases explosive documentary exposing death threats, corrupt judges and violations of law in Georgia

The Republic of Georgia, a former member of the Soviet Union, has encouraged American investors to enter and help energize their economy. Unfortunately, this may just be theatrics as American real estate developer Iconia Capital LLC has found their project in the country’s capital to be under an ongoing, multi-year attack by opponents backed by local judges and political figures.

The American investment firm Iconia Capital LLC, which is fully owned and financed by U.S. citizens from Hawaii, continues to struggle against local adversaries who are backed by contacts in both the Georgian government and in the judiciary. However, the firm has recently released a short documentary, which, for the first time, has exposed a number of former and current officials involved in the attempted destruction of these guest investors in Georgia.

Formed in April 2014, Iconia Capital LLC has had its first real estate development project in Tbilisi, the Hippodrome Skytowers, under constant attack and harassment for the past five years by politically connected opponents with personal interests in illegally seizing the Americans’ property. Due to open attacks by government officials, irregular and biased court decisions, threats from former court officials, defamation by a pro-government television channel, and even threats of physical confrontations, the American investors have been frozen in time: unable to continue construction on the project, even as revenues are zero and company expenses continue to mount.

Iconia Capital’s CEO, Seth Char, notes the following message that he has delivered to the Georgian government and the High Council of Justice:

“Sometime this month, we are expecting a major decision from the Supreme Court of Georgia regarding the future of our investment in the country. We respectfully request, and require, that the Georgian government ensures we receive the decision with transparency, expediency, and honesty: under the standards of Georgian and international law. It is legally and ethically wrong for the courts to freeze our business indefinitely when we have violated no laws or codes in Georgia.”

“It is also necessary for the authorities to actually follow up on our evidence and control the “rogue elements” present in the court system: rogue elements that have personal financial interests and have been documented, on record, threatening myself and others.”

Mr. Char also notes that his company continues to pursue legal action via UNCITRAL arbitration against the Georgian government for past and present violations of the 1994 U.S. – Georgia Bilateral Investment Treaty, which requires guarantees of protection, security, and fair treatment to all Americans operating in the country.

Until the Georgian government can restore security and rule of law for the American businesses who have been harmed, or worse, bankrupted by rogue elements in Georgia, the investors of Iconia Capital maintain their position: that investing in Georgia continues to be an activity fraught with risks and dangers that are impossible to overcome.

Why George Floyd’s Murder & Not Other Similar Deaths Is Causing American Furor, Says Author Khefa Nosakhere

Nosakhere‘s new book, “Institutional Racism,” discusses Black masculinity in an American, 21st century context.

 

New Orleans, LA – Khefa Nosakhere spoke out on racism before George Floyd’s death dominated national and world news. He just released “Institutional racism and the search for African American masculinity and identity in selected works of Richard Wright,” a non-fiction work he says is especially timely.

“The reason all of this – the protests, the NFL response, the Corporate America response, the local governments’ responses to defund police departments – all of it is happening because everyone was at home under COVID-19 restrictions watching this man’s life be taken from him in real, slow time.”

George Floyd, 46, died after being handcuffed on the street in the custody of the Minneapolis police on Memorial Day. A 10-minute cell phone video of the encounter showed former Officer Derek Chauvin holding his knee on the back of Mr. Floyd’s neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds while Mr. Floyd repeatedly gasped, “I can’t breathe.” He and the three other officers on the scene all face criminal charges.

In preparing for interviews and lectures, he says, “George Floyd accomplished something in death he never could have accomplished in life. He is a transformative figure in that regard.”

“Institutional Racism” focuses on how white male supremacy has shaped the lives of Bigger Thomas (Native Son), Richard Wright (Black Boy), and Fred Daniels (The Man Who Lived Underground). The book also answers how social maladies negatively impact Black men to this day.

“As a Black male, you have white male supremacy all around you, and you have to understand that you are treated differently because of factors that started back in the 1700s, and are clearly still in place today,” he says.

Nosakhere, a native of New Orleans, LA, is also the author of, “America, the ‘Beautiful’,” a book of dystopian fiction. He holds a B.A. in Literature and Language from the University of Southern California. His Master’s Degree in Literature focused on literary criticism, and his literary specialties are 20th century American literature, major authors, African-American literature, scholarly essays, literary criticism, African diaspora literature, short stories, creative writing, and poetry.

Nosakhere proposes a solution: reparations, and outlines what that could look like. “A year-long festival similar to the celebrations that African Nations got as they achieved their independence,” he says, “elimination of student loan debt for all African descendants living in this country, and universal health care for life.”

Nosakhere envisions ultimately being able to impact such change in the future, by taking on an advisory role to Black lawmakers.

Rising singer and songwriter Shirra has dropped a new single with deeply personal meaning that also has a message of hope for Americans in the midst of global unrest.

As Americans grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic and the civil unrest caused by George Floyd’s death in Minnesota, the artist Shirra has released the song “We Are One,” now available where songs can be downloaded.

According to Shirra, her new song’s lyrics resonate with current events across the U.S. today.

“From the pandemic to Black Lives Matter protests over George Floyd’s death, people are coming together,” she said. “Just as my song title says, I want to remind the world that we are one.”

Shirra believes her powerful new ballad’s larger message about resilience will have universal appeal.

“The chorus is about not giving up or giving in, even when everything is against you and you have nothing else,” she said. “It’s about faith, hope, and believing in yourself even when no one does.”

Shirra originally penned her song to express her own life experiences. It wasn’t until later that a new meaning emerged as people are uniting all over the world to fight for good.

“When I wrote the chorus, I was writing about my personal experiences,” Shirra said.

She now envisions the song as an anthem for crowds of protestors shouting “We Are One” in unison.

“I believe music is what binds us and reminds us how human we all are,” she said.
