The Price of bitcoin plunged last month, and again last week, amid fears trading could become illegal in a number of countries.
South Korea and India have both issued warnings to the market, threatening to pull the plug in a devastating blow to prices.
A already a volatile cryptocurrency, bitcoin hit a record high when it passed $20,000 in December to the delight of investors. But BTC’s value has since shifted unpredictably, with wild drops and subsequent recoveries seeming to become a never-ending cycle of highs and lows.
BTC nears $11,000 despite warning over ‘Russian sanctions’ Last week, the value plunged again from nearing $10,000 to $6,000 in just four days. But after a little recover, the currency now appears stable at between $9,000 and $12,000. BTC’s price this morning stands at $11,00 asignificant rise. Most of the price volatility seems to be over, and a slow bullish rise to now continue for another half-month or so according to experts.
Recent events in the cryptocurrency world have demonstrated just how quickly prices can change – rising to dizzying heights before crashing to catastrophic lows.
The cryptocurrency’s value plummeted ahead of Christmas, at one point dropping by almost $2,000 in just an hour in a terrifying 60-minutes for investors as BTC went into the red.
BTC soon bounced back but tumbled again in mid-January – then recovering again and plummeting at the start of February and back up in the end of February .
Bitcoin notorious volatility means BTC is expected to continue to shift unpredictably amid fears bitcoin has created a bubble that could burst at any moment.

The Gandhi Global Family (GGF), an organization affiliated to the United Nations, awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medal of Humanity to H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Musallem bin Ham Al Ameri
The medal is one of the most important accolades awarded by Peace NGO GGF, and is the second highest award conferred by them, amongst the Mahatama Gandhi Awards, the Brand Ambassador Award and the Gandhi Doot medal.
Over the years, the Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medal has been awarded to influential figures in the fields of human service and community development, including former US President Bill Clinton, the Dalai Lama, former Indian President Shri Narayanan and Indian National Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
H.E. Dr. bin Ham was presented the medal in Geneva, Switzerland, by the Vice President of the Gandhi Global Family, S. P. Varma, and in the presence of members of the Executive Committee of the GGF.
“Given H.E. Dr. bin Ham’s concrete efforts to combat malnutrition and hunger in the world and his role in community development and support for world peace, the Mahatma Gandhi Executive Committee unanimously decided to award him the Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medal for Humanity,” said Varma.

Now is the time when many of us start thinking about what we’d like to do to update our homes. For many people, turning their bathroom into a spa-like haven is high on their wish list, but with homes getting smaller and bathrooms shrinking with them, this can seem like an impossible dream. Tip 1 – Forget baths, up your shower game
Sam Cassidy says: “Baths eat up space in small rooms and often make them feel even smaller. If you’re working with an existing bathroom and you already have a bath I’d strongly suggest that when your budget allows, you change it out for a luxury, self-contained shower cabin, such as the ones offered by our partner Vidalux. Depending on your budget, you can go for one of their simpler options, which still give an outstanding showering experience at a very reasonable price, or look at one of their premium models, with hydrotherapy jets, steam, chromotherapy and Bluetooth connectivity for your listening pleasure. In the meantime, however, if you’re working to a tight budget and you have to stick with an over-bath shower or a standard shower, you can still up your showering game by simply changing the head on your shower to one which delivers better jets. It’s a quick and simple upgrade, which is great for people on a tight budget and also for renters.”.
Tip 2 – Paint your walls and clean your tiles
“A simple coat of paint can do wonders to update a bathroom (or any other room) on a low budget.” says Sam Cassidy. “In a bathroom, however, it can often be your tiling, which makes your whole room look dowdy. It’s a real pain to clean and maintain, I know, but if you really want that to create that spa-like atmosphere, then it needs to be done, at least for now. Once you upgrade to a self-contained shower cabin, you can wave goodbye to that particular household chore. As Vidalux’ shower cabins are completely watertight, you don’t need to tile behind them and frankly I count that as a win.”.
Tip 3 – Turn functional items into luxury touches
“Our bathrooms are full of items we use every day without even thinking about it” says Sam Cassidy. “Functional items such as toilet seats, taps and mirrors can all be upgraded so that they are luxurious and decorative as well as useful. These are all quick, budget-friendly updates. When it comes to smaller functional items, what I call functional accessories, things like soap dishes and toothbrush holders, think outside the box and use a bit of creativity by repurposing items from other parts of the home. For example, a tiered cake stand from the kitchen can work brilliantly as a way to store toiletries so they look attractive but are also conveniently to hand.”
Tip 4 – Provide somewhere to sit
“Yes” says Sam Cassidy “you can sit on the toilet sit, but it’s hardly the height of luxury and neither is perching on the side of the bath. Invest in a shower stool, Vidalux has several which are very attractive, so people have a proper seat in the bathroom!”.
Tip 5 – Remember what the eye doesn’t see the heart doesn’t grieve for
“Clutter is the opposite of luxury” says Sam Cassidy. “Even if an item is attractive, it may not be appropriate to have it out on display if there’s too much going on in a room already and that is particularly likely in a small room such as the average bathroom. If something is not attractive, then it needs to be either disguised or hidden. 1. What is Ripple?
Ripple is the name for both a digital currency (XRP) and an open payment network within which that currency is transferred. It is a distributed, open-source payments system. The goal of the ripple system, according to its website, is to enable people to break free of the “walled gardens” of financial networks – ie, credit cards, banks, PayPal and other institutions that restrict access with fees, charges for currency exchanges and processing delays.
2. What does Ripple do?
According to is OpenCoin, the company behind ripple, the currency addresses the need to keep money flowing freely. A company blog post titled “Ripple and the Purpose of Money” gives a brief history of money and its transportability, and points to the frustration of having banks and other institutions impede the transfer of funds with transaction fees and processing delays. The goal of Ripple, it says, is to build on the decentralized digital currency approach set by bitcoin and do “for money what the internet did for all other forms of information.”
