Popular town centre pub The Pennyweight is the first venue in Darlington to install the QTap mobile ordering, offers and event ticketing platform. The QTap app allows customers to order food and drinks direct from the comfort of their seat and can also be used to pre-order drinks and beat the queues at the bar on busy nights. One of the UK’s biggest pub chains JD Wetherspoon has operated a similar smartphone ordering system with great success across their UK freehold estate over the last 18 months.
Pub owner David Sturrock is delighted with the new service he can offer his customers. ‘QTap means we can provide a bespoke mobile ordering service at a fraction of the cost the bigger EPOS companies might charge. We can also create exclusive offers that our customers can redeem through the app on a first come first serve basis. Offers such as Ride & Dine, where we pick up the cost of a return taxi journey for the customers as part of the deal have been extremely popular’.
Business Development Manager for QTap Paul Romeanes is looking forward partnering with more venues in the local area to provide their customers with the service. ‘QTap has multiple benefits for hospitality venues, from a self-table service option in pubs, cafés and restaurants to a cost-effective room service solution for hotels. We are constantly looking for ways to improve QTap and have integrated some great features including recently adding the ability to book a taxi direct via the app’.

Order from the venue you are currently in or plan ahead and order from the venue you are heading to. There are few things more satisfying than collecting your round of drinks at a bustling bar upon your arrival”
