Tayana “THE POET” Smith was born in Southern California USA; raised in between homes throughout her childhood, adolescent, and young adult life. She grew up in challenging areas within Southern California. Commonly known as a pillow to post kid. Her pad and pen became her first love by age twelve. Her passion for Arts and Entertainment streamlined from Smithsonian figures such as Maya Angelou, Coretta Scott and Dr. Martin L. King Jr, And lyricist like Lauryn Hill, KRS-ONE, Rakim, Queen Latifah, and Early Tupac. THE POET is truly “THE PHENOMENAL WOMAN” late poet Dr. Maya Angelou speaks of in world renown poem “Phenomenal Woman”. Tayana “THE POET” Smith, dedicated to her community, serves as a girls basketball coach at View Park Accelerated Charter High school, and Coaches boys and girls basketball in the inner city at Saint Andrews Park (Recreation Center). THE POET music theory is Poetry that paints vivid pictures, uniquely translates selflessness, awareness, life experiences and inner peace. With hit songs like “COMPOSITION BOOK”, and “PYRAMID”. THE POET has proven herself to be a lyrical Freedom Writer, and Fighter with a “Mellotic” flow of creativity, demonstrating love, creativity, and peace.
The new project called ‘The Composition’ is available now on Itunes, Spotify, Apple and all other digital platforms. Her singles ‘Pyramid’ and ‘Composition Book’ are getting radio spins on several radio stations across the country. The new project was released by AMG Music/Universal Music Group.
