The Open C-ITS Security Test Environment is an open and free platform for research, development, and testing of the cyber security of Car-to-Anything communication.
In the European Union, a new “language” for future cars is currently developed. It is the emerging standard for Car-to-Car and Car-to-Anything communication, also known as C-ITS. Future vehicles will be communicating over this protocol with other cars and road infrastructure. This joint initiative of the European Member States and road operators is called C-Roads.
TeskaLabs Ltd is an award-winning company committed to creating advanced cyber security software products. TeskaLabs won with its technology called Seacat, a public tender to deliver cyber security to the European largest C-Roads pilot project. This C-Roads pilot is located in the Czech Republic.
TeskaLabs decided to share publicly the experience and knowledge gained in this project because the safety of car communication is an essential social topic that directly or indirectly affects all of us. For that reason, they recently launched an Open C-ITS Security Test Environment.
This environment can any organization or individual can use for FREE to research, development, and testing of secure Car-to-Anything communications. More than a dozen companies from the United Kingdom, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia are already using the environment, for example, to develop a new generation of onboard units (OBU) or research cyber security over-the-air firmware updates.
