Las Vegas, NV – August 25, 2018 – Universal Retirement is proud to announce the winner of its 2018 $1,000 College Scholarship. The winner is Regent University student Caleb Hebb of Abingdon, Maryland. Caleb submitted the winning video where he answered the question “Why is it important to start saving for retirement at an early age.” The selection committee decided that Caleb’s video best described a common scenario found throughout the United States. Many people delay saving for retirement and then find that life has passed by quicker than they expected. The solution is to start saving at an early age; even if it’s a small amount.
There were so many good submissions for the 2018 College Scholarship the selection committee decided to award a second-place prize of $500 to Snow College Student Shaylie Reiter of Herriman, Utah. Her video and song were based on the music from the Hollywood blockbuster The Greatest Showman.

About the Universal Retirement Scholarship
Universal Retirement understands the importance of a college education but realizes the high costs of pursing a higher education. Even with an early start, saving and budgeting for college can be difficult. They believe every little bit helps. With this in mind, the company presented the Universal Retirement 2018 Scholarship in late 2017. This scholarship awards creative students who understand the importance of saving and budgeting for the future. To qualify this year, students were asked to create a short 1-2-minute video explaining why saving for retirement at an early age is important. The topic for Universal Retirement’s 2019 College Scholarship has not been announced yet.
