Rising Toronto artist ready to take over

Toronto native Themacj says he is ready to drop some new music that will be available in all major streaming platforms.

Not many rappers can relate to having such a fast success within the industry but Themacj, born Malcolm Nelson, is ready for more.

“I’ve made great strides, but I’m not one to stop or back down from a challenge. My mission is to tell my story and share it with the world through my music and lyrics” Malcolm told Digital Journal recently – “I’m here to stay, and my fans can look forward to many more exciting collaborations, new tracks and live appearances in the near future.”

Counting more than 100k Spotify streams and almost 500 monthly listeners, Themacj describes his music as a mix of heavy metaphorical content and many different types of flows from real life scenarios.

Most of his success is due to his self-produced and self-engineered songs, bringing attention from big industry names such as rapper King Los and in-house producer for Drake’s OVO Sound, Boi-1da.

Precisely Boi-1da has praised Nelson’s ability to produce, something that can be seen in the production of the beat to his upcoming song with King Los’s.
In September 2019, Themacj had the chance to perform as opener for Madchild & Dizzy Wright in Toronto’s events space and concert venue Adelaide Hall.

As stated in his website, this was the year to not looking back and become headliner for Malcom. However, his plans have been affected by the numerous tour cancellations, canceled events and night clubs being shut down due to the COVID situation.

Troublesome ’96 like the 2Pac song, Malcolm grew up to cause a lot of mess. Even though seeing his loved ones suffer and being surrounded by hard environments, Themacj develop an interest in music, learning to produce his own beats before finishing High School.

Among his influences are rap heavyweights Eminem, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne as well as Big Sean, Joyner Lucas and Hopsin. This is easily reflected in his crazy agile flow, deep metaphors, and sharp lyrics in songs such as his latest release to date “No Fear (Best Rapper Alive 3)”. The song recently gained a lot of Internet hype thanks to Youtuber King Blitz posting a reaction back in April.
