Vinay Singh – Working Against All Odds to Be Successful | A Talented Entrepreneur & Founder of Topshot Events, TopShot Life, ComedyFizz

On April 13, 2019, within a year of launching his event management company, Topshot Events LLC, talented entrepreneur Vinay Singh was on stage with his launch event, “Jai Ho! Bollywood Fusion Night.” The night was a dream-come-true. Vinay is a talented entrepreneur and entertainment executive, whose work in Bollywood has transformed communities and enhanced cultural growth. Today, the founder of Topshot Events, Topshot Life, and ComedyFizz, Vinay, who hails from Bareilly, (U.P.) India, a small North Indian town, has proudly been recognized for his work at charity galas and concerts across Texas.

Working Against Odds in Life
Vinay started becoming interested in music and social events at a very young age. His love for this art form became evident to him right then and there. But, owing to cultural restrictions of that time, he was not able to pursue his career in the entertainment industry. Some years later, as a college student he was elected the head of his college’s Cultural Festival Committee. In that role, Vinay got introduced to the behind-the-scenes aspect of cultural events. He organized, planned and coordinated the 3-day annual cultural event and, at the same time, realized his skills and interest also lay in the purview of event management.

He says of that time, “I was at my peak for developing my love for music, dance, and event planning.”

A ‘TopShot Events’ is Born
Vinay started working on the idea of his own events & entertainment company once he moved to Dallas, Texas after coming to the US in 2007 to pursue a career in IT. He began with volunteering at Bollywood concerts and his first opportunity to work on event management came with a star-studded show called “Dabang” in 2018. Vinay considers that a “mesmerizing” experience, where he got to work with some of the biggest names in Bollywood.

The experience rekindled in him the desire to turn his dream into a reality. So, along with some of the talented professional friends that he had befriended on his way, Vinay launched his company, Topshot Events LLC in December 2018. The goal was “to have a launch event that was unique, elegant and a benchmark.” And that brings us to “Jai Ho! Bollywood Fusion Night”, where Vinay got to invite his favorite dancer, the talented Lauren Gottlieb to perform. Another good friend of his, popular Bollywood DJ from Portland, Prashant Kakad, was also invited to perform.

“Jai Ho” was a very successful red-carpet event, which positioned Vinay to make it even bigger and better in the US entertainment industry. Having organized 14 different Bollywood nights with different themes, catering to the unique interests of the South Asian audience in Dallas, one can say that Vinay has gone from strength to strength! Topshot Events has successfully executed events with some of the greatest singers of our times like Harbhajan Mann, Shreya Ghoshal, Guru Randhawa and Ali Zafar.

Talking about their work ethics, Vinay says, “All our events are taken very seriously by incorporating needed steps including production, venue, promotions, creativity, and security, to name a few. The safety and comfort of our DJs, artistes, guests & patrons takes priority in all our events.”

Vinay Singh has received a number of awards and honors for the services rendered to the entertainment industry and to the community. These include –

Branching Out
After realizing his potential in the entertainment industry, Vinay has been itching to take on new challenges and branch out in new areas of event management. His company is planning to host live EDM, Hip-Hop, Latin and fusion DJ night events. Topshot Events has grown to become an event, entertainment and production company and in 2020, Vinay has successfully established Topshot’s sister brands, ComedyFizz and Topshot Life.

ComedyFizz offers stand-up comedy at different venues in DFW and beyond while Topshot=Life is a grand version focusing on honing dreamers, entertainer and local talent.

Topshot Life is a new age Record Label and a unique entertainment platform, in keeping with the spirit of our organization, that is to focus on bringing in emerging talents. At Topshot Life, we have artists and influencers with diverse talents. Describing Topshot Life, Vinay says, “Topshot Life is a new diverse entertainment experience to the global audience and we would love the world know about our previous and new releases.” He also informed that this venture would focus on services like music distribution, music/video production, artist branding by collaborating with topnotch industry professionals. The group’s past release, Instagram Model, is now trending on TikTok with over 10k videos already made by users. The music video for this song will be released in July 2020.

A new release on this platform is also in the pipeline for June, 2020. Speaking about that, Vinay said, “We are excited about a new Telugu music video, which will be a new flavor for our Telugu music lovers and audience.” There are other future releases being finalized as well, which will see even bigger collaborations between artists and major music labels.
Speaking about his journey so far, Vinay reminiscences, “Topshot Events has come a very long way since our launch that would not have been possible without the support and encouragement from my family, from my Topshot team, friends and amazing Dallas audiences.”

For fellow dreamers and those aspiring to reach the spotlight, Vinay says, “A dream is only a dream and will remain so if you do not take steps to make that dream a reality. Where are the Black Women in Sex Tech? Entrepreneur Glenise Kinard-Moore Makes History with Disruptive Sex Tech Invention, The VDOM

Atlanta, Georgia – Glenise Kinard-Moore is on a mission to humanize sex with her latest invention, the VDOM. She just so happens to be a lesbian, African American, and from one of the fastest growing startup scenes in the country, Atlanta, Georgia.

In mid-2019, Kinard-Moore founded SkiiMoo Tech LLC, a tech-based consumer product firm and the parent company of VDOM LLC.  VDOM LLC specializes in the creation of prosthetic genital devices to enhance intimate adult experiences, with an emphasis on the LGBTQIA+ community.

An information security professional during the day and an ambitious tech creative at night. She likes to say that my superpower is breaking apart many things to create new things. Glenise holds an undergraduate degree from Georgia State University, where she played 4-years of division 1 women’s basketball. She has worked within the information security world for the last six plus years and holds several industry recognized information security and audit certifications. Her experience in information security and audit is why Glenise has taken information security and cybersecurity so serious when building The VDOM mobile application. “The VDOM is by far the most challenging idea that I have worked on diligently to bring to life, but I feel like it had to be done for so many reasons”, says the creator. “There are so many people who experience certain physical sexual restrictions and ultimately there are only a very small handful of solutions that even try to address such issues”, stated the creator. From there Moe Gee gained a lot of popularity and he always had a personality that attracted people to watch him and follow him, about a year later he got a gig working for a local radio station as a host and Dj and his popularity grew even more.

Small School Districts Lead the Way in the Transition to Digital Learning

The widespread COVID19 news coverage report small and rural school districts’ ineffectiveness in serving rural and disadvantaged students, justifying this position based on a lack of infrastructure to support technology based learning is not reflective of the actualities of innovation seen in many small and rural school districts as they have reacted quicker and more effectively than the majority of their larger, higher resourced peers. Much research and policy has been dedicated to the closure of the Digital Divide to provide more equitable access to technology for our rural students and must continue. The inaccurate assumption that rural and small school districts are stuck in this gap, unable to educate vast numbers of students is not fully accurate, actually depriving other educators of the knowledge that can be gained by agile, community driven, highly invested school districts, many of who are leading the way in technology innovation and digital learning. Reviewing the performance of three very different small school districts demonstrates the strength, vision and innovation occurring in small and rural school districts today.

Amid large district infighting and refusals to engage with students for extended periods while negotiating of special MOU’s prior to participating in teaching students post-school closure, small and rural school districts, nearly without exception, immediately began to serve students and families with a unique type of collaboration and dedication. Students and families in small and rural schools are not being left behind to struggle in isolation as the COVID19 crisis strikes so many ways of life. Recent research from a well-known California research firm showed disturbing lengths of time for larger school districts to engage families in education following the mandatory school shutdown. Very few school districts reported an immediate transition to distance learning (the same day) while others, including several large and wealth California districts have yet to engage with students. Unfortunately, because no small or rural school districts were included in the data set, this analysis is faulty. In truth, many small school districts have utilized technology as a tool to equalize educational opportunity for students most in need for years prior to the pandemic and were able to transition over the weekend for an immediate continuation of learning. Had this study included small and rural school districts in the analysis, many small school districts would have been at the top of the list, supporting students immediately with communication from teachers and leaders, course continuation, and social and emotional support. Transition plans included adaptations to support students in rural areas lacking infrastructure to support the technology and access required for online learning.

 

With an enrollment of 344 students, 94% below the poverty line, Buttonwillow School District in Kern County, fights to ensure the greatest access and quality for its students with a 1:1 student to computer ratio for the last six years. Superintendent Stuart Packard explains that when they realized the shutdown was coming, more than 100 hotspots were ordered to be distributed in time for every family to have online access. Compared to a national average of 1 in 4 students having made connection with their teacher since school closures, Buttonwillow has achieved 75% ongoing participation, with significant outreach the remaining students. Says Packard, “We prepared our staff and students for the technological transition through technology integration. Our conversations are centered on how our pedagogy can be adapted to best serve our families, including making sure that they are socially and emotionally healthy.”

 

Even schools that are providing remote learning are struggling to entice their students to attend. Recent national data reports less 25% of students are engaging in their distance learning. California is ranked in the bottom three states for student attendance. Contrast those alarming figures to the 85-90% of families that are engaged and learning in the Placerville Union School District, in Placerville, California, with 58% poverty. Like many other small school districts, the strength of the connection of students and families to their schools when they are part of a small district become a marked advantage. The close working relationships between educators and families bridge many of the gaps faced by larger districts. Says Placerville Superintendent Eric Bonniksen, “We are fortunate to have very talented, dedicated people willing to work through any challenge to be advocates for their students.” Placerville School District had work in place to operate without interruption pending decisions on school closures. Chromebooks, packet-based lessons, and nutritional support was available immediately. In the guise of assistance, schools are being bombarded with special offers that are less than special. Limited time access to technology systems and platforms that trap those schools into a program that may or may not be the correct fit and will likely become a budget concern as the many states face a significant reduction in education funding. Says Bonniksen, “Rather than be distracted by all of the offers of free programming, free access, limited time offers, we have placed a priority on the health and wellness of our students, their families, and our staff. We have a simple, well run program that offers the familiarity of what our classroom learning held for our students, they are in contact regularly with their teachers and school principals. Their nutritional needs are addressed in ways that work well for families, based on their feedback.” 

Cold Spring School District in Santa Barbara, a very small basic aid school of 170 student TK6, led by Dr. Amy Alzina, lost no days transitioning to a distance learning program, “The relationship-driven teachers and staff were highly motivated to create highly engaging lessons around the essential standards. The District’s 100% attendance and work completion rate is the direct result of our relationship-driven approach. In fact, many grade-level teachers have started moving to the next grade-level content standards as a result of their students mastering current grade level standards.” Students begin each day at 8:25 with a morning workout session led by Dr. Alzina, then continue through a structured academic day. Feedback from staff, students and families revolve around the intensity of the learning occurring and the progress being witnessed despite what is being called a crisis in learning.

According to Superintendents Packard, Bonniksen and Alzina, the social and emotional impact of isolation and mass amounts of conflicting information are a significant threat to the welfare of our families. All three districts immediately reached out to students, families and staff, including the integration of virtual mental health supports for all students, families and staff. Every communication intentionally focused on the physical, social and emotional well-being of families and staff, emphasizing that academic progress can only be made once these vital needs are met. Tim Taylor, Executive Director of the Small School Districts Association shared, “”Small and Rural School Districts understand that the school is such an integral part of a small-town community.  Schools continued serving students within days of closure by providing meals, curriculum packets, devices or simply immediate connections through personal calls.  It may not have been perfect but schools felt the personal relationship between the teacher and student is the most critical part of helping families and students get through this pandemic.”

As many reports anticipate a COVID slide, similar to the summer academic slide, small and rural districts are seeing the reverse, predicting a COVIC Climb, enabled by academic focus through the remainder of the school year. In summary, small school districts often have the ability to innovate quicker, with faster results simply due to agility and the closeness that connects small and rural districts to the communities they serve. These academic strides can be replicated on a larger scale because they have been proven effective in a smaller testing ground. Though small and rural school districts face some daunting obstacles, overall, the work of these educators is worthy of notice as our students have achieved what many have considered impossible.

Prime Minister Robert Abela , (of Malta , Gozo , Comino , Cominotto , Filfla , Filflu and Filfoletta) , may thus now wish to (properly) explain Himself to the Eminent Prosecutors (and Top Jurists) of  the ICC (International Criminal Court) at the Hague ; where He can rightfully benefit from an Impartial (and Independent) Hearing , without Fear , without Favour and without Prejudice.

* REFOULEMENT OF AFRICAN MIGRANTS

 

* INHUMAN (AND DEGRADING) TREATMENT OF AFRICAN MIGRANTS

 

 

For The Record : A Former (Top) Member of Staff  , at the Office of the Prime Minister (of Malta) , has already Sworn and Testified (Under Oath) , before an Inquiring Maltese (Judicial) Magistrate , that it was He who was repeatedly ordered , (by the Office of the Head of the Maltese Government) , to Unlawfully Carry Out an Utterly Shocking Avalanche of Multiple Acts of ‘Refoulement’ ; specifically concerning the Illegal Return of (Fleeing) African Migrants to Libya.

 

 

Such an Alarming Confession under Oath is (Most Definitely) an Extremely Serious Affair (indeed).

 

 

 

The ICC Chief Prosecutor has already reiterated (as at 05.05.2020) that LIBYA is Not a Safe Place for African Migrants ; let alone a Safe Port for their Return , Repatriation or Deportation.

 

48 Hours Later : The European Union (EU) then (Vocally) Came Out to Categorically Deny that It Had (Ever) Asked Malta to (Unlawfully) Commit Any (Horrific) Crimes (or Brutal Atrocities) , against African Migrants ; on it’s Behalf.

 

As At Last Weekend : The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General had duly directed the United Nations Human Rights Commissioner (OHCHR) to (Vocally) Admonish Malta (Too) ; over it’s (Unlawful) Treatment of African Migrants.

 

Meanwhile : The African Union (AU) is Not Amused (Either) , and is now said to be Quietly Considering what (if anything) it is actually going to do next ; even after an Eminent International Jurist (Emeritus Judge Giovanni Bonello) had already Publicly Rebuked his very own Country.

 

 

 

It is therefore my (Very Own) Opinion that there are Far Too Many Stories (& Highly Controversial Cover-Ups) in this (Seemingly Unending) Quagmire of Epitomal Political Debauchery.

 

To This Effect : The International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague is best placed to (Swiftly and Thoroughly) Sort Everything Out , without any Political Interference or Racism or Xenophobia.
